There's no long queue of suitors waiting to invest and woe betide the owners sell to a Bury or Derby type shyster. It's a mess but not one easily or quickly solved I'm afraid. I already have the feeling that this manager isn't any improvement and I so wish we'd gone for Hecky when we had chance but maybe if this guy carries on losing we start a fresh in League 1 new manager new team. Other than that, it's a dark black hole.

    I'm not buying this.

I simply do not believe that in his entire tenure that nobody was interested

I like to think he was taking care to make sure he sold to the right people. Then events overtook him…

I'm not defending this lot and they have made massive errors this season in both management and player appointments but who's going to buy us with the same issues they have? Only 80% and unable to purchase the ground.

New owners will rightly want to be 100% in control of everything or we will more than likely be back here again in another 5 years.

There was probably interest and no doubt would be again. The problem is finding a person or group that is suitable and/or has the right balance of care for the club and the resource to take us forward. Unfortunately the more you have of one the less tends to be evident of the other. As apathetic and bewildering as the current owners appear to be, there are worse out there. PC waited for what he thought was the right group. I'm not sure these owners would if they departed. This isn't a post in support of the status quo by the way, I'm just concerned about who might be next and to what extent they would want to asset strip what's left.

Did it? Or did it really take him about 6 months when he realised the sadly could no longer own us?

Sure he quietly told fans at a meeting that the club was up for sale but I quietly told my friends I want to move house too. As it's never been advertised for sale however I very rarely get serious offers.

Remember that the reluctant custodian Patrick cryne who only stepped in at the last minute when nobody else would had actually tried to essentially take over BEFORE we went into admin

There was interest. Was it credible is a different thing. I remember Don Rowing telling us about a meeting with some potential investors at Brooklands that he and Barry Taylor went to. (Seem to think Don talked about a disagreement the two of them had at the meeting) Also, I think Patrick and his family went from reluctant custodians to quite enjoying being part of the football club (at least some of the time). If they hadn’t, why would they still be involved? (Unless out of a sense of duty to have a view over what’s going on)

Do you know if the Crynes wanted to keep the 20 % as part of the deal or the consortium didn't want 100 % or couldn't come up with the money for 100 % so they had to keep 20 %
and they were reluctant shareholders ?

Its seems a strange percentage to keep as isn't it 25 % + shareholding to have a real say in matters .you can block resolutions etc
So you would have thought they would keep 25 plus % to try/block things they weren't happy with

Can remember people on here saying James didn't want to takeover because of the abuse etc

I suspect the majority owners dictated it. 20% is a minority holding and gives the 80% absolute control.

Maybe Patrick thought it would be a good learning experience for his son being in business with an international investment group . Toughen him up business wise but without the day to day responsibility of running the club It’s James abacus they’ve been using to assess player recruitment, I seem to remember one of the group referring to him as a genius . It wouldn’t surprise me if James Cryne eventually emerged with another investor as taking over ,
