Great post that. It's lifted my spirits in terms of the club's situation......but it only be briefly lol.
Ian Evans, there's a player i'd like to meet. Hopefully you can get him to visit oakwell soon as a legends guest
Right now I think the brightness coming is an express train that's gonna plow right through us. You speak as though this is something that has been inflicted on the club but the fact of the matter is this is their creation, their making, their stubbornness, their choices, their leadership. Which other club lets its CEO, manager, caption, head physio, groundsman, entire sports science dept and several other staff all leave around the same time with no plan b? And then our pre-season consists of a mass panic to find some players which turn out to be complete gambles on players that are renowned for injuries and poor game time. The pre-season was nothing short of shambolic. Then add to that the mess they have made of the managers once again. Out of all the managers they have brought in I would say only VI has been anything like good. Morais and schopp the worst of the bunch but asbhagi not fair behind tbf. And lets not even start talking about the ground, the ownership, the lack of investment, the refusal to invest.... Back to 5k season tickets next year. WHat will that do the club. They have literally taken us back 10 years. In the state we are now we will drop straight through league one too.
Boy how we couldn't do with someone like him right now to inject some passion and belief into the players. Don't care if he'd only lasts 30 mins.... Sounds like grasping at straws but I'll bet he can still turn it on as good as what we are putting out right now.
Annoying thing is, even since 2015/16 season we saw what bringing in a player like Kevin Long did to help the boys, same with Solbauer. So why are we doing it every season and having even that one old head in there - even if they don't play every game. History has shown it is what our young players need but we ignore it season after season until we are on the ropes, getting pummeled in the corner or like this season already on the canvas. Maybe we should have paid Conor what we were willing to give Mowatt when he was rejected by swansea.
I was asked what it was like for me, Damian. The rest of your post that I’ve not quoted is completely outside of my remit and doesn’t relate to anything I said. Once again, I completely understand yours and many others’ frustrations right now.
If the coach is being told which players to use and which positions to play them in and is making a defender from one of the few midfield players we have then we are truly screwed and it begs the questions why do we actually have a coach and who would actually take a coaching job with those constraints anyway.
No worries pal - wasn't bashing you. Just an observation on what you had said. Everyone is hurting apart from those with the power to change it, it seems.
