    Even if it is true, and as bad as the current owners are, I'm not sure I'd want anyone who conducts a takeover of a club in this manner to run Barnsley. The current owners might be crap but based on matters to date the new lot (if they exist) appear to be a complete shambles.

    From what I can gather from previous posts on that FB group. The statement hasn’t been written by the supposed buyer. It’s been written by the FB group admin and just approved by the supposed buyer.

    I hope it is right and someone local wants to buy the club but can’t help being a little sceptical

    I think the whole Martin Nettelton thing has been dealt with ad infinitum - believe it or not there are several Martin Nettelton's in the Barnsley area - it was a coincidence at worst and certainly not intended in any way to be malicious. There is a certain irony though about it being called out by people hiding behind the names MDG, Redvesp, Bellend ( maybe not Bellend, but you get the idea ) etc on here !! Are you able to provide any evidence on here as to how " BFCST actively sought a meeting to make this a collaborative effort" ?

    I'm old and cynical enough to remember some of the absolute nonsense, bullsh1t & theatre that took place way back when we went from admin through 2 ownerships. So in my opinion, as amateurish as that statement is, nothing would surprise me.

    not on the electoral role there isn’t.

    For me, if there was any credibility to the potential owners, they’d contact this Facebook group and ask them to either delete it, or at least change the name to Barnsley Fc Potential Takeover or similar. Conway Out smacks of teenage keyboard warrior.

    Ok Martin.

    The difference being that Facebook is a global platform where people are on the whole who their username claims that they are.


    This is an online forum where people come to read or vent or engage or to call out for help or habe a laugh and escape from the stresses of life..

    Its my choice whether i post as my own name or a nickname or whatever i wish to call myself.

    Also, people on here tend to have very obviously fake usernames. I don’t believe for one second that anyone would mistakenly think that my IRL name is JamDrop. If I’d called myself something like Sarah Jones on here, then people would be forgiven for thinking that that was probably my real name.
