That midfield we bypassed for most of the game? We do miss Mowatt a hell of a lot though I’ll give you that.

Don't know if he's any good, but their Dutch club FC Den Bosch have the fantastically named striker Jizz Hornkamp.

(25 goals in 52 games and also plays right back!)

No we didn’t, it was pushed well forward and played largely in the opponents half, Mowatt generally dropped back as the wing backs Styles and Britain were so far upfield. There was much more to it than ‘bypassing midfield’

We were pushing for a play-off place last season, so a punt on a loan striker then made sense.

There's far less logic in doing so when we're all but down, and addressing the forward line without addressing the midfield issues isn't going to make a meaningful difference in achieving that miracle.

I hate to be a party pooper (and I know you were joking) but he's just signed for Willam II in the Dutch Premier League.

Weren’t they the club linked with Obbi Oulare? If so it makes that transfer/loan look very unlikely

I'm slightly aroused at the prospect.

I guess they’re hoping that whoever comes in can have a big enough impact so that it gives us a chance. Like you say though, we’re doomed and it would take a miracle.

Whether it’s a midfielder, attacker or left back, I think we need to be preparing for next season now. I guess we’ll see what happens over the coming days.

Maybe bypass the midfield was wrong, we definitely bypassed the middle of the pitch though, hence why Mowatt dropped deep.

The point I’m making though is Dike came in on loan and did more than “quite well” for us. McBurnie on loan was a similar story too.

All this is pretty redundant anyway though as we are down and only a minor miracle can change that now and we all know it’s not happening.

Reports about Jizz are a bit premature

Bugger, said Zeberdee. I had a few chants I was practicing ........

"We're full of Jizz, we're full of jizz" .......... repeat ad infinitum
"We've got more Jizz than you, (insert team name here)"
"It's here, its's there, he's everyfkucing where, Barnsley Jizz, Barnsley Jizz"
"Forever and ever, we'll FOLLOW our Jizz" (important not to mis-hear)
"Can you hear the Ponty roaring, Barnsley's forwards always jizzing"

Along with the other 10 , they were all bad & actually Mowatt has had a good season so far , I wish we were struggling lying 5th in the division & having just lost our first home game , must be awful being a West Brom fan at the moment

Sounds like this player from Metz is close. Still have little confidence in getting any deals over the line though.
