I've had a brilliant idea; why not bring in the WHOLE team of Nancy boys to replace all the uninterested Reds! They all know each other well and they'd be no settlin darn period needed. Genius!

His goal record for Nancy in Ligue 2 (excluding cup games) is:

    2017/18 - 7/34
    2018/19 - 6/31
    2019/20 - 4/22
    2020/21 - 7/19

Plenty of assists as well though.

I'm underwhelmed if this is the sort of player they think we currently need. We've just about got rid of all the number 10's we collected previously - are we starting to collect them all over again?

Agree entirely. He might be useful (if he gets a work permit this side of Easter) if we backed it up with a proper box to box energetic midfielder who can get a foot in. Preferably a home based one too.
We all know what the chances of that happening are though. Nil.

If he's the only player we bring in, then maybe. But we are creating absolutely nothing. If can pick out a better final pass around an opposition box than we have been doing, then he'll be an ok signing. But pointless if we don't bring in at least one midfielder to play behind him though.

I hope he goes to the same chip shop that Mounir El-Haimour went to.

My first instinct after seeing the umpteenth pointless showboat was he looks a lightweight show pony.

It's not a good sign that Metz seem willing to off load him just a few months into a 4 year deal.

But hey, we are where we are. If we sign him, I'll hope he proves a good addition, even if only in the short term.

Personally, I'd be looking to sign someone who is more work horse than show pony.

He did at least find a team mate with those flicks. That won't be tolerated here.

I do think we're missing creativity. But we have so many problems in the set up, formation and intent of the side, I don't think my first move would have been this. But you never know.... he may turn out to have more impact than Adam Hammill!

I think it's best to judge when we know who, if anybody, else comes in. I think if he can come in to a 4231 formation, as the 10, with Styles to the left of him, and Vic to the right, and Morris up front. He has a chance of being an improvement as a direct replacement for Iseka. But if the 2 midfielders are still Gomes and Palmer, then you'd have to question what the point is. Palmer at the very least would need replacing. Although, I would've replaced him with Sibbick already to be honest.

Looks like if you took our best players and combined them with Nancys best players you'd still be 11 players away from making a competitive starting 11.

    Will it be .......

    (A) not match fit
    (B) work permit issues
    (C) currently injured
    (D) can't settle here
    (E) can't adapt to English game
    (F) all of the above

Or is it my ever increasing scepticism in my older age?
