The article about Barnsley FC owners by Leon Wobschall this morning is absolutely spot on. Always admired this sports journalist but this article on BFC season and the attitude of the owners to our fans is excellent.

The wider the publicity the better. Leon Wobschall giving our owners a regular bashing, fair play to him.

Yes better than our own Barnsley Chronicle can do

Well written, accurate and insightful. Disagree with the comment above about The Chronicle as I've read excellent articles in that publication this season too. I believe both publications are covering Barnsley extremely well.

But the Chronicle ought to be getting interviews and the true feelings of true Barnsley fans and push these owners to the limit, but they seem reluctant to go that extra yard

I agree, but the difficulty is getting Conway or the owners to show up for an interview. In the directors box on Saturday there were more in the Bournemouth box than in the BFC box. It’s the same every home game.

So why don't they interview the fans. Not Conway, he is a waste of space he has had his chance several times and does not want to take it, which is probably the main reason he has to go. I find it very unusual for an American to stay quiet

The Chron need the club. Without them they wouldn't survive. Any potential rift between the two would be disastrous for them.

Can anyone remember when Allan Clarke fell out with the Chron for been critical. So the next match the 'The Manager Says......' type column in the programme was just blank :) think it must have been the Keith Lodge connection who worked for Chron and wrote Oakwell Review. He just refused to talk to them pmsl.

It's an excellent article from Leon. Perhaps the most striking thing is that he, as a journalist without an affiliation to the club that I'm aware of, is just as critical of the ownership as we are from our own myopically biased perspectives as long-term supporters of the club.

Anything which gets that message out to the wider public ultimately helps our cause as concerned fans of the club with regard to protecting its long term future.

Barnsley Chronicle are aware of the supporters feelings and Doug Okane has been as forthright as perhaps he dares to be perhaps.

I am sorry but newspapers are supposed and I know very few do,to tell the truth and in this situation the truth is Conway and company are not fit for purpose . To me the only people that see this are the fans and to some effect the Yorkshire post, who in the past have knocked Barnsley fc, but in this case they have got the story right

I agree but why should he dare not print the whole truth and facts

Have you read the last two opinion pieces Doug O'Kane has done? I don't think you could get more damning from a local journalist.

Yes but you still don't get it. He should be getting fans points of view into print and delivering them to chien lee and Conway. Proper interviews. Proper points of view not just saying the fans are annoyed

Why should he? If you want fan opinion... talk to your friends, read articles on here, look at facebook groups or twitter threads. Why does the Chronicle interviewing in an inconsequential number of fans make any difference?

What if he interviews a random selection and they are all happy and say they will renew their season tickets next year whatever division?

I jumped on the link expecting something insightful, there's no real meat to it, he doesn't share anything you couldn't figure out within 30 minutes research, same as his article referenced a week or so ago. I realise his focus isn't BFC but not my definition of journalism - tell me something I didn't know or give me a fresh perspective on something.

Not sure that’s true. I’ve seen similar levels of criticism and coverage in the Chronicle. Large chunks of the back three pages of the chron have contained coverage and comment on the issues at the club.

Because everyone doesn't use Facebook Twitter or anything else. Some of us believe in the old fashioned way. It's not rocket science
