God bless oldtimer and his keyboard. Also, Uncle Mort who is another we lost along the way. Great poster.
Seen her mentioned a few times, I do remember her. Is their a reason she stopped posting does anyone know?
I miss Conan , if ever I was on a downer I would read one of his posts & realise there was someone in a more miserable state than me !! but seriously he was a regular poster who I rarely agreed with but I enjoyed his contributions , life is boring if we are all the same & Conan usually held alternative views which in my book is healthy for debate , come back Conan I miss you . I also miss Nudger but can get my Nudger fix on Tykes mad if I am in the mood , always makes me smile when I read his wind ups .
Tuffers mate. And who was the young (then) lad who used the board like an agony aunt column? Worked for Wakey council. I do hope he managed to get his leg over and is living happily ever after.
The way Bob rattled off stories without punctuation was just like listening to him speak… running back with his auntie across Hoyland Common when incendiary bombs were falling the winter night they bombed Sheffield… serving in Korea and American soldiers shooting at water buffaloes… Birdwell Rovers… If we ever put up a statue to honour the board's greatest poster it would be Oldtimer 28 for me.
I remember when the BBS organised an afternoon in the legends suite as shirt sponsor for his 80th(?) Birthday. Lovely guy
Yeah I am. Not spoke to him for a while. But he did confirm he was taking a break from here. He very probably still reads like. I'll get in touch with him later and let you all know how he is, unless he jumps in before I get chance
