The way it's gone this season, I am beginning to feel we may never win again!
Its been that long, I've forgotten what it's like to score nevermind win a game. This is on course to be the worst season I can remember in the 54years for results of watching the club. The owners have I am afraid to say employed another turkey in Pots Ashbaghi who is swapping the players around so that they do t seem to know what is being expected of them. I just hope when we go down, which looks inevitable, we dont
Sink like trace as Nancy FC have - another club owned by PMG.

Same here. The most turgid, boring, least successful, football it's ever been my displeasure to witness. Worse even than in the darkest days of the old Fourth Division. Passing the ball to one another without ever threatening the opposition, rarely creating chances, rarely shooting and rarely scoring. The two Head Coaches we've had this campaign are the worst I've ever seen at Barnsley.
For years on here I've accepted the label 'Happy Clapper', believing only ill health or finance would stop me watching the club I love. I've been supporting us for 54 years this year, having had a season ticket for 53 years.
My attitude and decision making is not knee jerk, but enough is enough. I'm not asking others to follow my lead and am quite happy if others wish to hold a polar opposite opinion to me. Those fans certainly won't receive criticism, or condemnation from myself.

Like you mate I've been going over 50 years and I cannot recall any season with less fight about the squad. As soon as they concede the first goal, chins are on chests and there is absolutely zilch inspiration coming from the coach (either that have been placed in charge.)
Team selection seems like a raffle draw, first name out gets to pick where to play, etc.
My great fear at the moment is that we'll go straight through League 1 like a dose of salts and could end up fighting for our very future as a EFL club
I honestly feel more despair at our current predicament than when we were in administration.

It pains me to say it, but I can't disagree with any of that mate. I'm a relative young puppy at 43 years support, but my patience is being tested big time. I can't face not going to Oakwell, but on the other hand I can't face watching the lacklustre efforts by all involved at the club.....

It's hard to get back into the habit of going after close to 50 years .
I've been to only 4 games this season .
    I got piss wet thru.
Spent 90 minutes listening to being offered outside by teenagers in the home end.
If its not bad enough watching the drivvle ,it's being amongst crowds that's unbearable to listen to.
Boos behind me from reds fan taking the knee
Kev I understand the pain fully.
It's got to the stage where who cares.
    The owners don't.

I understand what you mean. Despite a change of manager we seem a disorganised group of players who have the talent to do better. A head coach who keeps shuffling the pack but doesn't use a system to play the players strengths or practice drills on how to defend or attack etc. Etc. Barnsley fc have always sold players to survive but the club is now owned by a consortium who own six other clubs and have no love for the club as the fans have. I i tend to wait til late August( and bugger the early bird scheme) to see what the board do. If things change signicantly at Oakwell then I would renew my season ticket but it will take big changes off and on the pitch. I have been a life long fan of Barnsley fc since going with my dad back in 1961 but have never got to the stage where I was filled with downright despondency before the match has even kicked off!

Posts like these should bring the fans together. The splits of fans doesn’t help make things change but unity amongst the fan base will.

When @JLWBigLil (self confirmed happy clapper) holds these views it really shows how the bulk of the fan base are feeling.

    Time for action. Or inaction.

They’re the original lyrics. It was a football song but Vera had to change the words because of the war breaking out. Not many know that.

Feel very similar to this. I've had a season ticket since the Premier league season and before that attended very regularly with either my Dad or Grandad.
I think the club should be very worried at the levels of apathy from long term loyal supporters.

We'll win again, probably a scrappy win at home to Peterborough or summat. I'm not sure what that changes, if anything.

I'll throw my hat in the ring as well. I too started going in 1961 and never, before this season, have I chosen to miss home games simply because I couldn't be arsed.
I went to all 3 games of the infamous Rhyl cup tie, standing on a freezing December night in what was then the vast terraced canyon of Old Trafford to see us lose 2-0 to a Cheshire League side. But I couldn't bring myself to walk a mile to Oakwell for the recent games against Huddersfield and Cardiff.
I really don't know what I'm going to do next season. I dread the thought of not being there, with my "lad" (36) and the friends who have sat around me for so many years; but I'll be 70 next month and given the state of the club the reasons for not going are starting to become more compelling than the reasons to go.
With so many long-standing, deep rooted core supporters (or customers) expressing these feelings, anyone from the club reading this who isn't very, VERY concerned - simply doesn't deserve to be there.

The Law of Averages says we have to get another win.

If we don’t, the ‘Law of Poya’ will see us not only with the worst points total in history but we’ll have re-written mathematics as well.

We won’t get another win whilst we are are going through the current way of picking , playing teams .
The established players have all snouts given up for whatever reason be it confidence , apathy at the last and current coaching staff,
    Or what .
No one knows who’s gonna be playing from one game to the next with no explanation or excuse given .
Are players ruling themselves out ? Only they will know .
I thought the performance and attitude at gamesForest in particular was awful .
I don’t know what the answer is but I do know that this team even with the injuries are better than our current predicament .
During Mirais the experienced players held a meeting away from the coaching staff to try and sort things out , don’t know what the answer to this is but players need some motivation and inspiration from somewhere otherwise we go down in history as the worst ever championship team with virtually the same players that hit to the playoffs previous season and that can’t be right in anybody books .

Unless we start working the opposition goalkeeper with shots on target we will never win another game. I am absolutely fed up with the players trying to walk the ball into the net and not have the courage to take a shot, it’s almost like shooting has been coached out of them. I agree with the majority of posters on here, I am finding it increasingly difficult to work up the enthusiasm to get in my car and drive for 90 minutes only to be very disappointed. My get up and go has gone
