I haven't checked the table for a little while, surprised to see we're still only 8 points behind after another couple of games. The bonkers thing is that we could still catch them. They're awful. If we got Warnock in we'd have a chance. But we won't, and we'll go down.
Reading play Peterborough next Wednesday so we'll definitely be further behind this time next week as it sadly looks like nowt is going to happen on the Poya front before QPR come to town.
Wouldn’t it be great though if could just get that goal in front and take from there, surely it must happen before long?
This unfortunately. And to say it's another 10 points from them to the next spot Cardiff. I think it's safe to say we are pissing in the wind now. No chance will we get out of that
WRDC have a goal difference of 0. That tells me that they are as good as the teams around 12th place. I can't see us getting above them. WRDC will get above Reading. That leaves us chasing Cardiff and Hull who are both 16points above us. It is beginning to look a little tricky....
It's not going to happen this season, I seriously believe this team won't win another game this season. My anger has subsided into belligerent apathy. What the summer and next season holds,is anybody's guess.
Mad thing is if we'd beaten Reading away which I fealt we should have done at the time, we'd now only be 2 points from safety. Just shows the fine lines and how we should never just accept a defeat, I'd like to think our board are at least looking at the possibility of bringing Warnock in till the end of the season but like others have said it probably won't happen.
Thing is mate you could go to quite a few games and make pointers of ifs and buts. However, whilst we’re doing that, I’d like to mention both our games against Cardiff, A perfectly good goal disallowed for offside in each game would’ve yielded us another 3 points. Ifs and buts eh.
Yep - we’ve been 8 points behind for about 5 games, everyone else been losing constantly too (apart from derby - who we were in front of). just shows if the board had made a better appointment last time around and maybe brought just 2 influential players in who knows what that gap might have been.
Gunna lose £7 million pounds plus season ticket sales will be down, pay on the day as well if not doing well - WHAT ON EARTH are they thinking for the sake of a couple of experienced players and a DECENT head coach.
Ok, it looks hopeless but mathematically it's not. We have to play both Reading and Peterborough so if we get six points from them that helps. Derby might slip up sometime soon, or might even get hit with more sanctions which takes the wind out of their sails. I really wish Rooney had got the Everton job, but maybe Man Utd will come for him as an understudy to this German guy. All ifs and maybes, I know, but I won't say we are down until it's mathematically impossible to stay up. Traditionally somebody drops like a stone from lower mid table at this time of year, so who knows. Whether we deserve to stay up is another matter. Clearly we don't as things stand, but things have to change sooner or later. On the assumption that we will go down though I've already started taking more of an interest in the Third Division section of the Quest highlights show and I'm (sort of) looking forward to playing the likes of Accrington, Fleetwood, and with Forest Green and maybe Mansfield coming up things might look more interesting next season. It's boring seeing us lose week after week. I don't think it will happen next season, as some are predicting. It COULD happen, of course, but I don't think it will. We should be able to look forward to winning at least half our games, which will be nice.
Fair observation in OP. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51779316 9 games to play & 7pts behind, then a win at QPR kick-started our survival back then. History could be about to repeat itself, so I prefer to wave my scarf than hold a white flag (aka 'a poster'). CYOR.
The teams in lower mid table already have more points than we are likely to get by the end of the season without a herculean turn around.
