    Has anyone been watching? Not getting anywhere near the medal target ( hate targets!) but a couple have done close.

    Who's got close H?

    Was really looking forward to the skeleton, after our performances of the last 4 Olympics. Major disappointment this time, both men's and women's sliders way down the list. Looks like issues with the equipment and a big review to be had when everyone gets home sadly.

    It looks like unless the curlers pick up a medal, we're going home empty handed this time

    We had the chance of a bronze medal in the curling mixed pairs. One more win from the boys and they're through to the semis too. We got 5th for womens freeski big air
    We've got 2 through to the freestyle sking slopestyle final. Could be worse!

    Not watched any of it. Russians failing drug tests, hosting in a country with poor human rights and with poor venues using fake snow. I don't see the point of watching sports to care about them for a few days every four years.

    Couldn’t agree more, the hypocrisy of the UK government, the Olympic Committee, the media outlets including the BBC, and all the other contributors to this massive publicity machine is nauseating.

    Human rights organization Amnesty International came out with a report on China’s treatment of Muslim minorities on Thursday. The 160 page report said hundreds of thousands of Muslim minority men and women were being subjected to mass internment and torture, systemic mass surveillance and being forced to abandon their religious traditions, cultural practices and local languages.

    Women in China's "re-education" camps for Uighurs have been systematically raped, sexually abused, and tortured, according to detailed new accounts obtained by the BBC.

    Giving oxygen, credence and tacit acceptance to a regime which routinely carries out gang rapes of Uighur women, “re-education” of this ethnic muslim minority, and has transported hundreds of thousands to concentration camps, is an absolute scandal.

    These games should have been boycotted by Great Britain and every other right thinking country.

    Tonight hundreds of Uighar women are going to be gang raped by Chinese guards and others who pay for the prettiest ones.

    Never mind, at least we can watch the curling, eh? :mad::mad::mad:

    At least I didn't say my best friend is black though, that WOULD have caused an outcry on here!

    They report that the British 2 man bob finished 2nd in the final practice run yesterday. Prepare to be disappointed....

    You're not wrong, but if you remain faithful to your principles, you can't really watch any big sports events - they're all f*cked up and corrupted.

    How odd. You start off slagging off the media, government etc but end by taking a pot shot at the BBS who, unless I've missed something, had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to host the Olympics in China
