I hadn't realised that they were on the verge of the Premier league until this week. I was listening to a podcast, and they were talking about some of the stuff their manager, Dick Campbell has got himself involved with. Sounds like a character.
I noticed this week too that they were top of the 2nd tier. I was amazed. Hope they keep it up. It will be a short hop for Arabian Ian for an away day.
My mate Chris who is a Bury fan and from Bury, has booked a ticket for Arbroath’s last game hoping it will be the day that Arbroath achieve promotion and actually go up to the premier league.
Talking of which .... we had some lovely smoked Craster kippers for breakfast this morning. Trouble is, they repeat on you all day !
More years ago than I'd care to remember I saw Arbroath play Montrose at Links Park in Montrose. The Angus derby was taking place in what, at the time, was the bottom tier of the Scottish League before the league was expanded. My mate was a Montrose fan so we were pleased that Montrose triumphed on the day. The fortunes of the respective teams have certainly taken a different trajectory since that sunny day when I was treated to a half time whippet's dick boiled in earwax and served in a bun or what passed for a hot dog in Links Park!
Had relations who owned a raspberry farm on the edge of Arbroath, remember once watching Arbroath reserves on a virtually empty ground, geeat to see where they are now
Now that sounds absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the fare on offer there these days has taken a bit of a nose dive.
I saw Montrose play Arbroath at Links Park too! Arbroath won 5-0! Preferred playing the golf course actually
Lovely ground and very friendly people though it's 40 years since I went there for a pre season friendly and it didn't even involve Barnsley
Inverness mi fav Scottish club. Watch em every August when wi in Aviemore Think they'll both end up on 65 points so GD to decide Think caley struggling to stay in playoffs Caley or Raith in 4th place to play partick in first playoff match
