Due to be held in St. Petersburg. In light of Russia's antics in Ukraine it should should be moved. Despite the noises emanating from UEFA, they will dither about and do nothing. A Russian team won't contest the final so what's the point. It will send a stronger message to the Russian proletariat than Bojo's weak sanctions. It is more than likely an English club will be there (maybe two) so if UEFA do nothing then the English, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese clubs should take a stand and refuse to play in the final. That said I can't see Chelsea joining in as their owner is a mate of Putin.
Russian FA will probably rename themselves to something new. ROC or something, that'll sort it. Nothing to see here.
I think things are in a bit of a holding pattern. Sanctions to date are modest from all parties (especially the UK) and so I can see UEFA waiting to see how it pans out. If war does break out more intensively, I'm sure if only for security reasons, they'll move it. I wouldn't be surprised to see them wait to name a new venue until they know what nations may be represented in it too.
Seems I wasn't far wide of the mark here. Except FIFA have taken the decision on their behalf. Mystic Mac
