Morris is stronger, quicker, has a better first touch than Woodrow although I would say Woodrow is a better finisher than Morris.I think Woodrow would be better played in a deeper role (number 10) in the future.
Morris is also really good at running at the defenders and not so good at being the man to aim for in the box. Now we’ve found a winning style/formation it’s important we continue to develop it as we can’t have all our chances be from outside the box. Woodrow knows how to be that proper striker because that’s been his game his whole career. It’s not criticism of Morris when you point out his game has been a bit different to that.
Don’t think we’d have got these 3 wins from 4 with Woodrow playing over.Bassi,Quinna and Wolfe have been excellent.
You've absolutely lost me in this conversation now. Even more so with the below. Nobody ever said Woodrow over Bassi, Quina or Morris.
Cauley will be a great option when he's back. Imagine having him involved, along with Morris, Quina, Bassi and Styles. He could play a big part in the run in. Hopefully he's back soon.
Be a good option to have back, cole came on and looked like he had lead boots onr. Vic injured some more options wpuld be great.
When Woodrow is playing well he's great, but there's nothing I've seen of him that tells me he's better than Morris, in any department. That being said, I'd prefer Woodrow off the bench than big Vic or Cole.
Woodrow in the box, with creative players providing chances, is arguably a better 'real' striker than Morris. Would also fancy Woodrow more from 25 yards or set pieces. The benefit of the two of them is that there's no comparison and compliment each other really, really well. They're both totally different players. Would also back Woodrow from the penalty spot based on his 100% conversion rate. A match day squad with them both in it has a far greater chance of survival. That's why I'm excited to get Woodrow back.
Which is him saying it's one of the other, no? I'm just saying I want them both in the squad because it won't allows be the Bassi and Quina show as teams catch on to how we play.
Woodrow is one of the few championship quality players we have in our squad , a fit Woodrow brings a lot to the team , when he was playing earlier in the season there was no Quina & Bassi or Morris to support & supply Woodrow but there is now ,plus you need options , Woodrow is a proven championship striker & we are a better team with him than without him .
I could see why he brought cole on yesterday with boros highline in search of goals so abit of pace on the counter and to press the defenders when they had the ball but he was running like he had lead boots on and looked knackered after 15 minutes.
Maybe, or perhaps just stating his preference. I agree that it would be great to have them both in the team.
We haven't seen the finishing quality or championship quality from Woodrow for a while so as it stands he would still be coming back into the squad just on previous reputation. Surrounded by more creative players tho would hopefully bring out the best of him
Can we get all 4 of them into the 11 though? Would be good if we could, but in this system, I think Styles needs to stay in because he almost alternates between being an attacking midfielder and a right back. And Gomes and Wolfe are the best two to play the defensive midfield role. Be nice to have the option though.
Agree completely with this; Cole looks defeated before he starts which is so disappointing whereas Cauley should make a difference. I’ve missed him.
Styles is essentially playing RWB I think? Only way you play all four is dropping Bassi in to the Gomes role and then Morris off Woodrow or vice versa. Risky strategy but you could also tweak it against the right opponents to have two up top. Having the option and ability to change things will be the biggest benefit. We’ve been weak outside of Plan A all season. Well, we’ve been weak with Plan A as well to be fair.
