That's actually what happens if you put crabs in a bucket apparently.

Comparisons with Hitler aren't weak at all. Both are evil ********. Both are murdering innocent people. Both are war criminals.

Totally agree. I'm just hoping there is a negotiated solution, but have little faith in Putin backing down, unless internal pressure is placed from the Russian military. I don't think the oligarchs have much influence over Putin, but they may have with the military. A lot will be seeing the Russian soldiers coming back in body bags & may question the point of it all.

It's not necessarily inevitable, that's what Lord Halifax and his cronies thought in 1940. The world will have looked at Vietnam in the 60's and concluded that US victory was inevitable, or the Russians in Afghanistan.

Putin has zero interest in the oligarchs*. If they can act against him great, but if it’s just a case of frowning at him then he doesn’t really care.

*based on the news reporters I was watching this morning

That is a very good point. In the 1920s a load of crabs were dropped into an aquarium at Brighton. They spent the next few days killing each other until none were left. This is why you can't feel any guilt about eating a crab. Because another crab would have killed it anyway. Got some great crab recipes if you're interested.

I'll pass that on to Mrs CR. Maybe we'll nip into Dingle when we get home and snaffle a crab or two.

    P.s I hope StephenDawson doesn't read that! ;)

Not that I'm crab obsessed, but never buy a dressed one. Crack one open yersen and just get the dead men's fingers out. You'll save a fortune.

Like I said, not that I'm crab obsessed....

Sorry. I forgot not everybody is not as interested in crabs as me.You crack open the body and there are long grey filaments - dead men's fingers - you whip out. Easy to spot. After that you can crack on and scoop out the brown and white meat. Then the legs and claws which is where you get a lot of the white meat from. Proper tools are handy but you can tackle it with what you've got in your kitchen. Not that I'm obsessed...

I can't disagree with your sentiments, but that's not a decision that we should make on someone else's behalf. If the Ukrainian people are prepared to fight for their freedom and democracy, away from fear of jail or beatings, and worse, at the hands of secret police, then we should support them with whatever we can if they ask for it.
