Seems like we have knocked back an offer of £1and a half million pounds from red bull for Styles so what will he go for in the summer.
Depends what league we are in. And how desperate for cash we are. 4 years ago I’d have expected us to get as much as Alfie Mawson for him, but the arse has dropped out of the market.
Didn't even know he drove F1 ?!? Versatile !!!!!! Incidentally not seen anything so which Red Bull is it you've heard ?
He turned down McLaren last summer too! New York according to this article: https://www-onceametro-com.cdn.ampp...ad-bid-rejected-for-callum-styles-of-barnsley
I've just began reading that article actually. It says Styles is known as the 'Bury Messi'? I wonder whether he didn't know who Roberto Baggio was, and substituted his name for Messi's. Or whether using Messi instead of Baggio builds more hype, considering Baggio's last visit to the States ended in disaster.
As per the article I never realised (if true) Styles was the first Millenium born to make their EFL debut. One to tell the grandkids.
Can't see him taking the step down to MLS at his age tbh. I think if he leaves us ( and he's running out of B' names) it will be for a team with realistic ambitions of a fight for promotion to the Prem.
I suppose if we assume a player will be sold by the owners in every transfer window someone will be right eventually. Maybe we won't sell him this summer like we haven't in about the last three transfer windows like he was expected to be.
This all came from the Sun article, didn't it? It mentioned he had a European passport now and this would allow him to sign for someone within mainland Europe. You sign for Red Bull and they will likely either post you to New York or Austria with the hope you go to the main team one day. On a fee, I'm never sure about fees but it depends on what Barnsley want to do. Do they want it all upfront or are they willing to gamble and take a larger sellon? upfront. Am I stupid for thinking 5 million-plus?
Bury knew that he wasn't legal or even ready to play though. It was just another Simon Davey/RNL style deflection exercise to take attention off the managers poor performance. In fact after his 15 minute illegal cameo Styles didn't play again for Bury for another 7 months.
There’s many players who get shown a glimpse of the first team at a young age and it’s not always for negative reasons. It’s what you do with potential talent that you want to see and experience first team football early, to get them focused on working hard to get back there. Part of their own development when they’re not ready to be involved week in and week out. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Jalo make the squad before the end of the season for the reasons above. Unreal talent so getting him in and around the first team once will do his confidence and potential no damage at all.
You're right there are many. However Callum styles was not legal to play for bury at the time, this was known by bury and yet filtcroft gave him a 15 minute cameo to make the headlines before dropping him from the squad entirely for the next 7 months. Hardly blooding him in was it.
You could suggest it helped him develop the attitude towards football he has now? Purely speculating, but also speculating to say the opposite too.
Flitcroft said afterwards that first thing Styles said after the game was how fast it was and Flitcroft added that the kids don’t realise what a big step up it is to me s football. Which suggests he did it to either set Styles expectations or give him a target(or both).
It’s Struber who apparently want him.It says the American window is open and of course Struber knows Styles well.
