And Osama Bin Laden was a 'devout Muslim' . What's your point again?

Let's not forget, Russia is not the enemy. There are videos today of thousands of brave Russians protesting against Putin's war despite certain arrest. There are millions of Russians who want nothing more than to have a chance at a normal way of life, but have been ruled for over twenty years by a fascist dictator who can't accept that the Soviets lost.

Thank goodness we've the erudite, blinkerless saviour to guide us to the truth.

NATO aren't blameless in all this, but let's not pretend that Putin's actions can be absolved.

I asked the same earlier today. Are UN troops not a thing anymore?

Im not particularly religious but in my understanding the Christian faith puts forward the 'Thou shalt not kill' message whereas the Muslim Faith does not forbid waging holy war against non-Muslims.

A good move, but why does NATO need the green light from the USA?

Or is this just the USA trying to look like they're running the show, as Biden keeps trying to take the plaudits.

From what little I can make out, the effect of the influx of NATO weaponry and a well organised Ukranian army appears to be having a massive effect on the war insofar as it's wearing down the Russian opposition. Surface to air and tank busting missiles from small mobile Ukranian forces are causing havoc with large, slow Russian columns of vehicles, which are either being destroyed, breaking down, running out of fuel and getting stuck in the spring Ukranian mud when they leave the road to avoid detection.

Footage on Twitter of Ukraine destined Russian trains carrying all manner of regular civilian trucks to the front line. Clearly the Russian army is running short of military based ones.,which some reports suggest have been very poorly maintained due to endemic corruption. What we don't see much of are the Ukranian losses, for obvious reasons..

This appears to have led the Russians to change tactic and begin the heavy shelling. Some of the images are WWII like in their destruction. This is why the Ukranian president is desperate for air support. There's apparently a(nother) request for Ukranian's to receive Polish MIG aircraft with them receiving F16s from the Americans in return.

    As you said,

"People forget that Putin is devoutly Christian and wouldn't want to take human lives without there being a justifiable cause."

I suspect Poland was asking what it was getting out of giving x number of MIG-29s at $11m each. Reports suggest US has promised F16s as backup.

Wonder what Putin will say to this.....

Hey Micky! Love you too buddy.

I find it a little sad that you can't engage in a serious discussion without resorting to juvenile insults. Mark of the man I guess.

So many contributors to this thread and from what I can see only two people have bothered to consider what legitimate
motives Putin might have had for invading Ukraine. Why do people feel so threatened just because someone dares to hold an alternative viewpoint?

Because your particular viewpoint is demonstrably false and also dangerous.

You talk about echo chambers, but currently you're rattling around in the worst one...
