A week ago I was starting to think there was a chance we might go on run and finish with a respectable points total around 40 points and would have considered him being given a chance next season. What an Idiot I was last 2 games are normal under the 4 games before just the mini revival before giving up. I don’t want him here next season unless something significant changes in tactics
It was a poor performance all around tonight, we rode our luck at times & I genuinely thought we would commit daylight robbery. But Stoke weren’t great either, that’s why we managed to take the lead. The only real positive is how Poya changed things at half time & went more attacking, putting Vita further forward, & moving Kitching to left back. It worked, but then we had to hold on, which was always going to be a struggle with this group of players. Quina was awful apart from the goal & 10 minutes after. Morris struggled, as did Styles & Bassi. It just didn’t click, which is unfortunate as Stoke were on the beach already.
I have to agree with this and Styles wasn't far behind. Two players we rely on and it didn't happen for them tonight. At the match i kept hoping the ball would stick when Morris got it but but to no avail and I haven't seen him get bullied like that for ages. As for Cole, well least said anall that.
It doesn’t help when the management team are tactically questionable which imo is confusing the players ,motivationless , and clueless to what’s needed sub wise .
It's a mess of a situation, as it's been for the vast majority of the season. Of all the coaches and managers we've had stretching back to Allan Clarkes second spell, I genuinely can't think of any other that I want to be in charge LESS than Asbaghi. If you were to put together a list of every valued trait a coach at BFC should have, I doubt he would be able to tick off any single one of them. I find him rude, obtuse, passionless, naive, negative, deluded, lacking in insight, wisdom or energy. His interviews make Heckingbottoms seem upbeat. His touchline manner makes Schopp seem over exuberant. His set up makes Robins look maverick. Sometimes even his midfield selections have made Spackman look a genius. I've always enjoyed listening to pre match press conferences since they started being recorded and shown, but he's the first coach/manager who I've just switched off from. I can't listen to his nonsense anymore, the content or the tone. We haven't the money to sack him, so we'll have to hope the club trigger a relegation clause at the end of the season. Given the car crash of this season, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we'd completely forgotten to include one.
Why do you find him rude? I really don't think there's a relegation clause in his contract from the way he's come across in interviews.
We chucked the game away, by handing possession back to Stoke at every opportunity after Quina's wonderful goal, instead of trying to construct another attack.
Correct, that 9 minutes injury time was all about possession. If you keep possession they can't score & as you rightly stated we were deep & kept inviting Stoke on, we failed miserably.
Not feeling hard done by, just peed off because yet another mistake late late in the game has cost us points. As for deserving anything, that has fek all to do with it when we need points by hook or by crook, many teams take points out of games they don ‘t ‘deserve’ to. That’s football
On reflection , we can’t really say it was a fair result , with better luck Stoke could have been out of sight before we scored. BUT we did ride our luck and having got into the position we did it was gut wrenching to throw it away the way we did. Still convinced that we lost due to a manager who is so negative/ inept and so scared he transmits it to the team . Plus let down massively a player who put in a’tackle with the power and commitment a three year old would have been ashamed of!
We have a terribly unbalanced playing squad. All the summer signings, other than the loans for Vita & Gomes were terrible. Neither of those even surfaced in the first half of the season. If a loan player isn't ready to slot in, why bother? We know Conway was running the show then. We are down now IMO. The current coach is worse than the one appointed in the summer & he was less than useless.
Possibly true, next season will be hard not to be a bit 'after the lord mayors show' after this season. We have kept well within our means though as we don't have financial backers and have to. Glad to see you are still fighting, if we need to beat Reading on the last day to get in the play-offs I hope you can rely on us if you need a result. Another big game for us on Sunday v QPR - we have had loads of injuries and somehow managed to carry on winning and now players are coming back -except our keepers so relying on an emergency loan
Yep the championship has out grown us.. ether debt our lower league is the choice. Or there's a third option.. get to be as good as Luton at picking up players.. but that doesn't fit the boards narrative on signing players. So L1 it is.
