Put the deck up and then put final score up peeking through one eye - will be less painful

I got the Cambridge Audio Alva with Bluetooth and MC stylus. Needed the Bluetooth so my Bang and Olufsen is going on ebay.

Looks a good turntable that. What was the first thing you played on it?

Please don`t think I`m being cynical I need educating.
What qualities does a top class turntable have over a download?
When I get ridiculed I was obviously asking for a mate!!!

If you have a high quality lossless file then the sound quality is fairly similar. The sound of vinyl is a warmer & I'd argue a "truer" sound as it's analogue, as opposed to a digital representation. It's also a lot more tactile to have the record, label. sleeve art / sleeve notes, etc. It is a bloody expensive game these days, so not for everyone I guess.

Whatever the format it does depend on the quality of the deck / player / amp / speakers, etc.

The cheap record decks you can buy for £100 are a bag of poo.

    What he said.

I have a B&o tangential deck which is high end even for them, it tracks the record as it was pressed, looks great as well but i needed the Cambridge Audio with bluetooth as I'm living in someone elses house and I can't really go moving the furniture around lol. I noticed a difference between the old and new one as soon as i heard a track. It's hard to explain but sometimes the difference is very subtle.
There's a stall on the market on Saturday that has quite a good stock, I've had severel LPs from them and all were in great condition
