I was thinking a bit earlier that we won’t win a game with Palmer and Benson together. Whether 5, 50 or 100 mins. Weak on the ball, weak off it.
Poya “What we need to do is add some bite and bolster midfield to hold the ball a bit further up and relieve the defence……..Romal, Josh, get your tops off, you’re on.”
We knew that one of them would be the catalyst for Fulham to equalise. But christ. Both of them at same time. I've no idea what we have available but whatever it is, has to be a better choice than those 2
With those two playing most games in the first half of the season. Is one of the main reasons we are where we are in the league.
Doubt he will the most worrying thing is benson we gave him a 4 year deal the blokes gash. Came on today no effort what so ever ghosted through like having a man down. I dont mind if your **** but try but when a player just looks like they dont give a **** and cant be arsed like benson did today unacceptable.
You can’t blame coach for that mate, he cannot be held responsible for every players c ock up ffs!….weve no bench to call on thts prob!
I’m putting the blame firmly on Benson. Palmer is running for the ball, then Benson steps in and almost dummies Palmer and puts in a weak challenge. Benson is simply not physically up to playing in this league.
But to a (wo)man, we all knew on this board that they haven't been good enough, so even though the player made the mistake, the head coach shouldn't have put the player in that position. As stated elsewhere, other options were available. Should Halme come on and **** up like they did before the end of the season, then I'll happily hold my hands up and say I was wrong.
Just watched the highlights where Benson (and Palmer) feebly lose it with a weak challenge leading up to their goal. Palmer's down on the floor, and Benson just ambles back, carefree, towards our goal. No urgency. By the time the goal goes in, he's not even reached our penalty box. Just not good enough.
Why does he feel the need to pick them for bench never mind play them. But then again he puts himself on the bench when he shouldn't even be here
I mentioned it on the match day thread and said it to my lad in the two minutes prior to the goal - he was ambling round at a snail’s pace, seemingly uncaring of the game passing him by, running like he was towing an eight berth caravan. The goal came from his carefree laziness (and Palmer’s fear of tackling which we’ve seen before). But I’d put it more at Benson’s feet to be honest. He seemingly just made no effort whatsoever - he’s a young lad and should be fit. He’s just got no heart, no desire. I’d sooner play some of the local lads from the u18s - they’d at least give blood sweat and tears.
