Apologies for the shameless plug, but I think there may be some interest on here.

New project at Shaw Lane to support young people struggling with Mental Health. Based on Outdoor activities including outdoor sports (rugby, cricket, football, walking, bowls), plus outdoor maintenance type roles (pitch maintenance, gardening, design and creation of a sensory garden, allotment tasks). Course lasts 16 weeks over the summer and is free. .

Walking Cricket for older / semi-retired people (men and women) 2 x taster days - 10th and 24th May 10am-12noon. Session being run with a view to setting up a new club.

Anyone interested, send me a PM for further details.

Neither - think it's a hard foam ball - a bit like Kwick Cricket kit. Won't hurt if it hits. :)

I’m 46 but got issues with my feet due to being diabetic so would be interested in the walking cricket if I fall into the age range

It's the walking bit that doesn't appeal to me. If the ball was heading towards the boundary I'd be too competitive to walk after it. I once went for a stress test at Rotherham Hospital and had to go on one of those cardio treadmills. I don't have a fast walk. I found myself having to jog at the speed they called a brisk walk. Not because of my fitness it was just more comfortable for me to jog.
