    Price freeze.

I don't care what other clubs charge. I don't care that our prices haven't gone up since 2018. Football is grossly overpriced, even at Barnsley.

Bearing in mind the impact on family budgets of increases in taxes, energy, transport, food, and now interest rates (with more to come), I can't help thinking that any increase in ST prices would be counter productive anyway.

But if the club really do want to increase prices, they could at least do the decent thing and wait until our Championship status has been secured.

They could also stick £750k back into club coffers.

Depends on what happens. Stay up, announce Bassi and try as hard as possible to keep Quina which would be unlikely. Make sure Wolfe signs a new contract too. Do at least something I mentioned and positivity will come back.

Go down, never see any of the loan players we have again and see Wolfe poached and ill feeling will get worse.

I fear many businesses, including potentially BFC, will use the 'everything's going up' claim as an excuse for a price hike. I've seen it mentioned somewhere, but the 'rise in the cost of living' should actually cause some (decent, honest) businesses to counter it and say you know what, we don't actually have to put our prices up, so let's do the right thing and keep them as they are.

I don't buy into (pardon the pun) this current situation where EVERYTHING has to go up in price - why? Covid? Russia? I understand some things go up and down as they always have, but why do even NowTV need to jump on the bandwagon and tag on an extra £1.98 for a 24 hour pass? Just like that.. Do these companies not make enough?

I was wandering round tesco the other day in disbelief, everything has increased. You know, those supermarkets that made record profits in the pandemic? And now the offers are the same price as what used to be full price. I bet halftime draw's still parnd-a-go. Come on Khaled lad, keep it as is. And get Conway to do a fan engagement while you're at it, the big dosser.

I’m not necessarily in favour of the owners either but removing the £750k issue, what are you talking about? Presumably something in the grander scheme of things relatively minor. Bad recruitment doesn’t = shitting on supporters. Your general posts give the impression that they can’t win for you whatever they do.

It’s a difficult position for you so thanks for the feedback. I’d say increasing prices in any way would cause another awful mistake.

I think you're right. It would be difficult to get over for many I reckon, especially when the 750k is still airborne and won't go away without a full and satisfactory explanation.

The recent upturn in form should help them a little bit I suppose. As I keep saying the "early bird" is the real price everything after that is just a penalty for not renewing when they want you to. So I'd scrap the early bird and just have a season ticket with a price. Nice and simple.

This doesn't impact me as I have zero interest in renewing until we have some serious answers from the ownership who it seems are not willing to face the scrutiny of the fans. Despite having a season ticket I still haven't attended since November and have basically decided I'm done in my head.

Out of interest, when's the next £750k installment due to be taken?

I agree about the Early bird pricing. Just have season ticket prices full stop.

These owners will never invest their own money in to the club.
I want to be sure that our club doesnt owe these owners a penny in lost money.
I dont want them to invest their own money in to Barnsley.
These owners are not here to lose money.
Our only hope is that we can progress as a club with the money it generates its self.
Even if these owners go I wouldnt want new owners to be in debt as i believe debt puts a club at risk.

Season ticket costs and how many we sell is directly linked to what signings we make, which players we sell and wages we pay.

    Agree with early bird proposal.
Don’t have an issue with if financed costing more
Equally don’t have an issue with an increase on tickets obviously would rather not but the reality is we need to, just be sensible and reasonable with it.

If prices remain the same I would be happy . I think the prices we paid this season are reasonable compared to clubs in our division

If we go down I still believe the prices this season are comparible if not cheaper than most clubs in league 1

I'm gobsmacked people think the £750k issue is a massive stumbling block. It only gets talked about on sites like this. I attend with a dozen other friends and family. And not one of em talks about it. It's not their focus of attention. As for the fight with lawyers. They'll let the courts decide.
The main reasons people may not renew imo. are affordability and What league we will be playing in.
Given the cost of living going through the roof. That will be the major one. Especially for those that have families. I don't know what their intentions are but a family ticket including all those of school/college age must be a high priority.
As for offering monthly installments I really don't see a major issue. Those that want to take it up will do so if necessary. Taking the interest or administrative costs into account.
BTW Paul thanks for the feedback it's understandable the message you put across given the prices were a proposal at this stage and I hope comments were taken on board.
I had issues with the car so i couldn't attend.

They've finally found a position for Oduor that he can do effectively?

I absolutely hate the Early Bird thing, especially with how ridiculously short the time frame is. I’ve felt pressured into buying a few times because of it (obviously the point) but it makes me feel **** all month when the deadline is approaching. I also, with 100% certainty, would never, ever buy a ST once the price increases. If others feel the same way that means loads of people who might otherwise have bought between May and August as they started to get excited again for the new season won’t bother. I’d love to know how many STs they sell in the more expensive period. I also don’t like that there’s such a discrepancy in the amount people have paid to watch the exact same thing.

Not really. You said that you were told indicative pricing that you won't tell anyone. Or have I misread that too?

I agree on the £750k thing a lot of fans don't care. That's fine too they don't have to. The cost of living is going to have a much bigger impact for most I think. Energy bills rising at incredible rates, food prices through the roof. Then BFC likely saying buy your ticket by this date or we will charge you more.

Only 3 things will even tempt me to renew 1, the ownership changes PMG/NCC & Crynes 2 , there’s an apology and explanation of issues that have alienated many and there is some sort of investment on and off the field with a change in recruitment or 3, they are ridiculously cheap like £100 so it’s a no brainier. None of which are remotely likely so as soon as my letter drops it’s being recycled, I will look at away fixtures and go to the odd one based on it being a stadium I’ve not visited before.
