Basically, the less well off will pay rich companies more brass because that's the way of the world. If only there'd been an opportunity to vote for something else in 2019. But look at us now. Thriving. With our blue passports, our sunlit uplands, billions of pounds in debt and us little people having to pay for it while the millionaires in the cabinet talk about us 'being in it together'. It's beautiful, it really is. Like having to stay indoors and not visit your loved ones when the politicians shut down the country. A wonderful act. Let's ignore the fact that the MP's didn't follow their own rules and have been investigated by the police. They'll get a naughty fine to pay and it'll be all ok. They have to pay all this extra cost themselves too, you know. Energy increases, food bills, they also have to pay it. That's if they know how to use contactless of course. Yes, I know they got huge pay increases, as MP's, unlike most of us, but look at what a great job they've done since being in power for decades. They've welcomed the Ukrainian refugees with open arms don't forget. No links to Russian oligarchs whatsoever. And you can still go and protest if you like, for now. Shame on us all for allowing this to be our sad f****** reality.
They will have Meter readers out in force ensuring they have to rely on customer reads as little as possible
I can gloat more. I got fixed until September 24. Fixed for 3 years. Right before all the increases. So I'm laughing at EDF now. Casually flicking my middle fingers up at them because they thought fixing me for 3 years they would charge me a higher rate. A rate that is now way below anything you can find on the market. And I've another 18 months of sticking up the middle finger to them. Apologies to anyone else who is struggling. I don't meant to ram it down your throat. But it was about time I got luck on my side for a change.
Good on you mate, nice to see someone ‘benefitting’ from this for a change. I was just unlucky with my fixed rate expiring in November.
you hardly use the west wing either. must be costing you a fortune. p.s. I'm also with bulb, had the same sting. I really need to have a look round. bulb have always been consistently the most competitive, so I'm not expecting to find anything cheaper. but I need to do summat.
We are with shell. before my deal expired I was paying a DD of £81 per month. This went up to £123 in February. For April on wards they have given me 3 different prices in the last month : £179, £186 & £195. I will go with the lower one and see how things pan out over the summer. I pity those on Universal credit or the National Living (more like existing) wage.
To be honest it’s the maids quarters that the issue, looks like I’m going to have to splash out on extra candles
Similar to you I took out a 3 year fixed in April 2021 with edf. I could have got a little bit cheaper elsewhere but not all that much. And the kicker, they credited my account with £150 for taking on that deal and being a loyal customer. This is not an I'm alright Jack post. I have everything sympathy with those whose fuel bills are going through the roof. I've written to my MP about the situation (pointless), I'll sign any petition. Don't vote Tory. Vote for any political party who will renationalise electricity and gas. The country is held to ransom by shareholders and foreign states when energy suppliers are in private ownership. Shareholders and rogue states will be getting rich on your misery. Let's do something about that.
Well I thought that profiteering was illegal in the UK but what do I know? I mean, I was under the impression that lying to parliament was a criminal offence too but hey ho
You can lie to parliament as much as you like. But if you're proven to have lied, then you're generally sacked by your boss. We've not had a PM lie so blatantly and it's showing that existing rules just aren't capable of holding ministers to account if a party don't think its in their interest.
And to cap it all, if an MP calls a lying PM a liar, it's the MP who is told to withdraw the accusation or leave the chamber. You couldn't make it up.
But that bstard bitch Thatcher said it would benefit the consumer after privatisation. burn yer fkin cow.
