He was a sporting great. I've never known anything like this in terms of his funeral and memorial. Up there with Mother Theresa and Princess Dianna for a spectacle.
Still doesn't seem real he's gone. His popularity in England despite being the "enemy" tells you everything for me. A absolute genius of his craft. His banter with the barmy army over the years was brilliant too always taking the stick with good grace and giving it back in equal measure. The Ashes just won't be the same without hearing his take, he will be sorely missed by all who love Cricket.
Sums up my feelings too does this. We'll never see his like again and as you say the Ashes just won't seem the same. Still can't believe he's gone, he was always so full of life.
