Playing the charity/BFCST card for starting another thread on the return of the FanZone tomorrow.

Brief overview below of what's occurring:

    - Open from 12pm
    - Pouring beers from Acorn Brewery and BrewDog
    - Everyone is welcome
    - Live music
    - Special guests
    - Red All Over
    - Sunshine with a hint of baltic temperatures
    - Big coats at the ready
    - All profits being donated to Drinkers for Ukraine and their work with the Red Cross' humanitarian relief efforts
    - BFCST members passing off as very rusty glorified bar staff, bumping in to each other a lot, and struggling to add up. Pints should be on point though.

Wish I could be there Ben. After the game I'll be taking the 11:50 ferry to Alameda to spend he afternoon roaming around a few breweries and raising a glass or two for Ukraine.

I think it's absolutely brilliant that it's reopening and that Ukraine will benefit. But may I ask what's changed to allow it to open suddenly? I thought it was closed because of the closure of beaver court meaning that cars have to pass through the fanzone

It was more around the well documented safety challenges at the start of the season and the focus needing to be elsewhere as a priority. Once those were sorted it was way too cold/non weather friendly - and we’d agreed with the club in the Summer that it should shut from late October to February time regardless, in our opinion.

We actually had the Fulham game down for relaunch but Sky scuppered that so this was then the next game.

So it was basically just a shortage of stewards at the beginning?
Any word on anything more permanent/strong for the future?? I think you and Khaled might have mentioned that in your q&a but I can't really remember.

I hope everything goes well today and that people are understanding of any hiccups that happen due to being closed so long.

why would it be cash only? isn't it more likely to be cashless, than cash only? good question though, cos I haven't carried cash since about 2018, so I'll be scuppered if it is

I don't carry cash other than a couple of quid for the half time draw, I know they've only recently gone contactless from cash only in the ground so thought I'd ask, no biggie I'll take both. I'd look daft stood in the fan zone without a pint. Looking forward to today.

We enjoyed our hour in the fan zone, seeing Gally and Loko in the bar was like seeing someone famous off the tele. Not sure about the brewdog lager its got a different taste but i will give it another go and get use to it. Gally was in charge of the card machine so i didnt need to use any cash.
It was nice to see a few Reading fans in there, nice atmosphere.
    Cheers lads.

    Should have said hello mate!

Appreciate everyone who came down and visited/spent money behind the bar. Will announce donation figures tomorrow once we’ve figured it all out. Really pleasant atmosphere and great to see regular faces after two years.
