Spineless and pathetic. No bottle at all. Our biggest games be that a South Yorkshire derby or playing the teams around us, our record is shocking. Reading can feel robbed of two points. They were far better than us. We fluked a goal and never looked like scoring another. They played like they had been on the lash since our last match.
Games Vs Fulham, Stoke and today Reading should and could have been seen out with better game management. Even 3 goals up v Boro and we were left clinging on. Poya stood moping about in front of me, contemplating his naval. 6 dropped points and I think that will be the gap between us and safety. Absolutely appalled at today's performance and plan. We only get in their box once in the 2nd half and that was in injury time (Brittain should have put his laces through it.).
Spot on. It’s the fans. Utter disgrace they are - wanting some level of commitment, ability and passion from the players; some nous and tactical awardees from the coaches and (God forbid) an ounce of integrity and competency from the Owners. The Fans are an absolute disgrace.
Never said it was the fans fault. The point was said that we deserve better. Why do we deserve better? No need to be a smart arse or have a go.
The loanees have been good, but too little, too late. Schopp and Asbaghi have been short-changed by our owners and their placeman. How can this ownership group have Barnsley's interests uppermost when they own 5/6 other clubs? And as an aside, wouldn't they concentrate their efforts on those clubs still able to take advantage of EU freedom of movement?
We were shocking today. Apart from a wonder goal by Morris, who was then kicked up in the air a few times, whilst the myopic referee and linesmen saw nothing, we produced zilch. Quina on the missing list. Bassi closing down but got no service. The equaliser was coming. No complaints about the result. We're a poor side.
He's saying that we don't get behind the team at home. And that the attendance levels reflect that we will struggle to maintain a club at this level. Which seems true to me. Sadly.
As an earlier poster said, there are a 100 reasons that we could talk about which are a more valid explanation as to our predicament than….’the fans are crap - we deserve no better’
Where does your quote "the fans are crap - we deserve no better" come from? Is that yours? If so, it's not fair to put it in the mouth of another.
What worries me is that attendance wise we’ll struggle in L1 too. Vast majority of folk I talk to aren’t renewing. Apathy reigns…..sad times. Conway & co are killing a great club.
I agree mate. I think it will be a while before we get back up. It won't be with this lot unless they change their mode of operation. I'm stuck with having to go watch it, no matter what, because I know that if people like me don't go, there'll be no club left at all.
I’ve had the same conversation with mates tonight. I’ll renew cos I love my club and like you say if we all turn our backs there won’t be a club left.
I agree orsenkaht. And I'd add that I believe their placeman is hugely culpable. From his misjudged, unwise and likely completely wrong statement about not expecting relegation (which perhaps illustrated poor judgement on his part), delaying sacking Schopp and then an appointment which prioritised the owners future resale value recruitment model above getting enough points to stay in the championship - he has showed poor judgement and made some pretty poor decisions imo. As for off the field matters - that's for another (long) discussion. After leadership like this, the CEO would be under serious pressure in many businesses. In the end of season review he's mentioned several times, I wonder if he'll be asking himself whether he should resign, or be sacked?
Fun fact....if Derby and Reading hadn't had points deductions, if Reading win their next match and we lose ours, we'd have been relegated. I think....near enough....or summat. But then in Geno's famous words if my Grannie had wheels she'd be a bike.
