After the Luton game I stressed to my dad that the board must relieve him ASAP, a didn’t think he’d brought anything to the team whatsoever and we was a sinking ship, fast forward 2 months and I think he’s brought a team, who have had zero confidence all season on massively IMO, whilst yesterday’s result was crap I’ve seen enough to give him the gig for next season and I also believe we have a team good enough to compete at the top end of league 1.
Sadly for us Poya is still learning his trade, certainly in the English leagues, you can tell when he fails to see we need to change things up, but we will learn from this and come back from it, going back to league 1 is a major setback but sometimes you’ve to go backwards in order to move forward, the board undoubtedly made huge errors at the start of the season and it’s cost us dearly........sacking him won’t help matters either, we need to go into the summer trying our best to keep this squad together and build from there, we have some great players and over the last month we’ve shown what we can do on our day.........

The fat lady hasn’t sung yet but she’s getting her dress on ready for the show :(

He had 2 weeks to prepare most of the squad for our biggest game of the season so far, and came up with nothing.

I think poya would struggle to get any side promoted from what ive seen of him. But will promotion be the aim or are we just buying and selling players.
As for league one its a terrible set back alot of dead wood to get shut of, were already skint, season ticket sales will be slow as many season ticket owners have already stopped attending this season... maybe conman could ring a few fans up who havent used there season tickets for a while and ask them why.

As a guess I reckon we’ll sell a minimum of 7000 season tickets, out less and I’d be amazed if I’m been honest, buying and selling players in league 1 isn’t a sustainable idea at all so I very much doubt they’ll adopt that plus what’s the fascination from fans with the owners not attending, there not Barnsley fans, there businessmen

I don't think he's our man at all, and I wouldn't trust him to turn things around if we started to struggle in league one. I certainly couldn't see him going all guns blazing like Stendel with the positive mindset of an immediate return to the Champ. I think mid table would be seen as success by him; win a few games convincingly, lose to the 'better teams', but try and concede as few as possible.

The way we sat back yesterday again, inviting pressure, not taking the game by the scruff of the neck, and hoping that a 5th minute goal would see us through, was amateur, as were the too-late substitutions. The guy is so out of his depth and personally doesn't inspire any confidence in me. I think he has to go.

I just don’t see it. I think any decent manager would’ve picked up more points since January. Looking at our goals they seem to come from moments of quality from players like Morris, Quina & Bassi, rather than anything tactical.

It seems to me like he’s got a better first 11 through two good loan signings & the returns of Morris & Anderson but has no idea how to change it if plan A doesn’t work or stops working.

We sold a record amount this season of season tickets with many now not turning up so i guess they wont be renewing. My post said conman should ring these fans not using there season tickets and ask why. Not that the owners arent turning up i couldn't care less.

East Stand didn`t look as sparse yesterday, but maybe that`s because it was Reading we were playing.

Soon as we are down, he will activate the relegation clause and go.
Not the manager/coach for me , his interview on radio Sheffield after the game confirmed that, I think he was at a different game to me.

Awful manager. Sooner he buggers off the better. Defensive without having a side that can defend. Inflexible tactics. Dreadful substitutions. No ability to motivate.

Like Morais without the comedy value.

We won’t have a side capable of competing for promotion from L1 though. Helik, Anderson, Styles, Morris and Woodrow will all be sold to cover the debt we have and all the loanees will have gone back.
We need a gaffer who knows the lower leagues and can do a bit of wheeling and dealing. Not sure who though to be honest. Doesn’t matter anyway as it’ll be some unknown from a foreign back water. Another yes man.

Under these owners, we are doing that every 2 years and it patently isn't working. Simply pressing reset after every failed appointment, whilst praying for a Val to happen, is not a valid business plan and is only alienating supporters.

I'm not sure a) we'll have a 'gaffer', and b) any 'wheeling and dealing' will be done. Doesn't fit the business model.....

As someone posted on another thread, he is too negative; he approaches games with a don't lose, not a must win attitude.

I'd also add that he starts defending a lead far too early, rather than going for another goal (a rarity for us this season).

Additionally, his substitution activity - wrong player off, wrong player on, and usually too late - Big Vic in the 90th and Iseka still on the bench being yesterday's examples.

I think his negative tactics and attitude rub-off on the players, which is not a good thing.

All about opinions innit. Personally I’ve seen enough to believe he’s woefully inept and has been a disastrous appointment, following the previous disastrous appointment.

Totally agree. Conversely Poya has showed me with the right players he can do the job. One of our better managerial recruits.

It’s looking likely we’ll be going down, surely trying to keep a man who knows the squad and club is better than ‘another’ manager........we’ve got to stop this high turn over of managers

knowing the squad and knowing what do with it are two completely different things though. turnover of managers is inevitable I'm afraid. if they do well, they will leave. if they don't they will get sacked. personally I would move away from the 3 year contracts for managers, and go back to rolling contracts.
