We shouldn’t be playing them now, let’s give some experience to our youth players in preparation for league 1 next season. Vita obviously is different as we don’t have any left footed full backs. Bassi won’t sign for us in league 1. Let’s save some wages and send them back.
That’s a ridiculous a comment as I’ve seen on here all season. Irrespective of whether few or all fans thinks were down or not, the club should always strive to put our best available 11 out until it’s mathematically impossible to stay up. We also owe it to the rest of the league to be as professional and competitive as possible. We have Millwall. Huddersfield and Blackpool yet to play who all have very realistic chances on making the play-offs.
If they lose to Stoke in midweek we will have a game in hand on them to close the gap. Millwall is winnable and next weekend they have to play a Cardiff team who will be expected to show a reaction after losing yesterday in a big game. It's looking bad for us but if history has taught us anything it is that it's too early for the white flag just yet.
No guarantees Reading beat Stoke and Cardiff. Not in this poor league. Downing tools when the Millwall game could still be huge for us is not the attitude I want from any Barnsley XI. Regardless of what caused us to get to where we are, we keep fighting until the death. Glad you’re not in charge with this mindset.
Even if we were down mathematically I'm not sure what sort of experience bombimg in a few young players into a poor and struggling side would be, I'd wager not a positive one.
If the club follows your suggestion, then it may as well cancel the renewal letters, turn all the lights off, and shut up shop completely.
Too early to down tools just yet. But there’s a case for leaving one of them on the bench, to give us a chance of playing for 90 mins
I couldn't say with any confidence that we would make up the 5 point gap, even if Reading forfeited their remaining 7 games. You don't throw in the bloody towel though. Shocking attitude.
We beat Millwall on Saturday, Reading lose to Cardiff, and there’s only 2 points in it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it went down to the last day. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t either
I think that’s a reasonable post except for two small points. Us beating Millwall and Cardiff beating Reading. Other than those two points though, I’m with you.
Ungrateful if we did this imo. They saved our blushes and stopped us being at the do it of the table.
