https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0bz2r4w It's good he's so outspoken instead of giving generic responses, but if he had taken the chance at the death like he should have we'd not be talking about dropping points. Wikipedia says he's played 69 games for us so he should have got some goals by now.
He will never, EVER, score for us. That was his best chance yet and he fluffed it again. I’d be happy to be proven wrong though if he gets one in the last minute at The Hawthorns to keep us up
He’s ******* crap and needs to look at his own bloody horrific performances this year before he starts labelling others.
I agree he's rubbish. One of the worst players to pull on a Red shirt. I didn't get the rave reviews last season either. Every key thing in a match that has happened to him since he's been at the club he's fluffed.
He'll score a consolation goal when it doesn't matter. When we're 4-0 down v West Brom on the last day.
I really had high hopes, and I've been really disappointed. He's now part of my main 4 players that I feel if two of them play, we have no chance (The others being Palmer, Benson and Kitchen).
I don't think it was a better chance than either the playoff against Swansea or the cup tie against Chelsea to be honest....
I don't have much time for what he says in this interview to be honest. He says he could see it coming, and we were dropping too deep. Why did he not shout for one or both of the two inexperienced defensive midfielders to push up a bit more? He needed a bit of luck with how the ball bounced around for his chance. No, it needed a decent strike He's skied these chances before so he just wanted to get it on target. No Callum, you've had these chances and meekly side footed them, like you did on Saturday.
Agreed. The players should have gone rogue on Poya and stopped sticking to his tactics that were not working and done their own thing.
I think Brittain will get a move back to the championship in the summer. Gets slagged off on here but I think still as his admirers..
I think so too. I think we need to try and have Williams and Hondermarck as the options at right back, which would be pretty decent in League 1. Just need to replace Helik, Andersen and Vita as well. Though Kitching will take one of those spots I imagine.
There is definitely a championship player in him - he showed that last season. After a few poor games the last 2 or 3 he has played reasonably well, but when I saw who was coming in to apply the finishing touch in the last minute on Saturday my heart sank. I dont think he will ever score for us
I'm not sure having Wolfe and Gomes as deep as the back 4 was a Poya tactic though. Were Poya was really at fault was not making a change that would give us more of an out ball when we did clear our lines. Instead we had Bassi and Morris on one leg up front.
I will go against the grain of this thread (largely) and say that I like Brittain. He’s not been anywhere near the level of last season but then not many have. He’s taken a fair amount of stick on here when there’s more culprits that could/should have had it. I’m not convinced he’ll ever score for us though.
