Was November for be but otherwise exactly the same feelings. I've checked out, the only thing I'll miss the the folk i sit with. When it sounded like the owners were actually going to speak to the supporters Trust I was at least trying to keep a open mind. The fact they are completely unwilling to communicate means I have decided I am completely unwilling to put another penny into the club. Had a season ticket since i was about 10 years old. Never thought I would feel.sp apathetic towards the club.
Shows how deluded they are when talking about a sold out oakwell. Will be more like three quarters empty just like the crowds we getting now based on how many attending games n not on how many season tickets sold b4 start season.
I'm second then, was wavering but will commit. Disagree with many things at the club but I still look forward to going with my Dad, regardless of how sh.it we are.
I’ll get one as I just don’t know better. I can’t turn my back on the club after all these years and hopefully the club will still be here long after these charlatans have gone. I am genuinely worried what the next few years hold in store though. What a total mess they’ve made….
Exactly. A lot of the time the game you've paid to watch is the worst part of match day Buying a ticket is more about the whole day. The people/faces you see, waking up knowing you've the game to go to, maybe a pre drink etc.
My personal feeling is that when push comes to shove, more people will likely renew than may have been expected. And like you've outlined, its only the owners who can resolve the build up of issues that have covered their tenure. If they were resolved, even to a nominal degree, I suspect many would give them the benefit of the doubt if they got the tone right. The day to day employees, certainly at lower levels, aren't the ones to blame... they just have to do business as usual against a backdrop made more difficult by those who own the thing.
At least the 135 people that renew will get a significantly refunded ticket. Where do they think of these things. Anyway, regardless of the division my time is up for the home games. My party have all made the decision to do aways only again next season. I’ve never felt as distanced from the club as I have this season. Shame really, because rewind only 12 months I don’t think I’ve loved it as much as I did under Val. I know I’m not the only one too, some achievement from the owners to naff up relations as much as they have.
You get more and more detached from the average Barnsley fan every day. What makes you laugh is the behaviour of supporters. It isn't that the club choose to keep the prices the same despite a significantly weaker product? It isn't that the owners are laughing in your face? It isn't that Conway makes excuses up to avoid meeting you and then goes to sheff United away? No it's that fans aren't as positive as they should be. Jesus Christ I want some of whatever Khaled gave you during that q&a
I’ll renew. Not thrilled about things on or off the pitch at the minute but me and the boy will be Reds long after these owners have gone and if we all took our bat and ball home we wouldn’t have a club to support at all.
Why? Would they just close the doors and lose all their money? I think they'd be pressured to sell to limit their losses
Personally I think if they went down the cutting and running route they’d take us into admin rather than flogging us for next to nowt. Been there before. Didn’t like it.
I've had a season ticket for well over 50 years, so my decision is certainly not one taken in a fit of pique. If others take a different attitude, opinion or approach, that's fine. I have no problems with that. There's no way I'll start with sneering, condescending comments towards folk with an alternative viewpoint. I'll leave it to others to ask the same questions over and over again (dressed up slightly differently) and throw a hissy fit towards others for simply having a different opinion.
One simple question: If the owners can't be a***d to invest a penny in the club, why should anyone else?
A voice of reason. I’m a few, but not many years behind you and share your view. I simply refuse to bank roll supposed billionaires experimenting with football ownership of the club I love. Exploiting the loyalty of football fans is exactly why ‘investors’ are drawn to investment in the game. Regardless of the price of season tickets I will spend my weekends elsewhere.
Understand why folk are reluctant to renew with the present stewardship but I can't understand folk turning their backs on BFC the club its bricks and mortar, it's hallowed turf, the memories, it's very essence and all it encompasses. It' OUR club, OUR town. Once a red always a red
I have no issues with fans having this opinion, mate, and fully respect it. It's your right and I back you 100% for having it, even if it differs from mine. I don't think it's excessive to expect that respect to be reciprocated.
