We’ll never have enough stay aways to do what Blackpool fans did with the Oystons. Too many of us are “just thankful we have a club”. I’m certainly not feeling this is *my* club at the minute. We are just a venture capitalist experiment as things stand. Any “my town, my blood” tubthumping is patronising given the circumstances.
Good for you. In my case, I don't consider myself as having turned my back on the club I've supported since 1966. It just doesn't feel like the same club to me.
I think the modus operandi for this type of owner is to take out a huge loan first before subsequently putting the club into admin. E.g. Wigan Athletic.
Never thought I would reach this point but I have. Totally fed up with it all. All the years spending thousands following us home and away. All the defeats and relegations, none of it stopped me. But the insidious nature of wanting the fans to put money into the club which in turn will be used to pay for the club is too much for me. Coupled with my objections to this method of purchasing the club we have owners who are unwilling to even address the supporters. For all the faults we could pick up on Dennis and Crynes respective stewardship (and I criticised both) I always believed they had the best interests of the club at heart and the priority was winning football matches. I no longer belive that to be the case. It is my opinion that the owners are taking advantage of the kind if mindset you describe. Knowing that love and loyalty of the club will allow then to keep squeezing the money from the fans. That said I respect your love of the club and your continued support. I genuinely hope we have a great season for all the fans who go next season. Sadly I have reached a level of Apathy that would make renewing foolish. I haven't attended since November and can't see myself going again.
It’s just that you replied to me when you said it that’s all. I’ve no problem with anyone not renewing for whatever reason. I’ve had many a year without a season ticket. Tom-ay-to, tom-ar-to. Just a turn of phrase. As it goes I do think not renewing as a protest against the owners is counter productive. But no beef with anyone who thinks differently.
Erm , yes Mr biglil I agree, I'm not sure what your reply means. I certainly do not think your or anyone else's opinion/respect should not be reciprocated. I wasn't having a pop at anyone. Far from it .
It's what I'd expect from you, mate. You're a top poster. Sadly, not everyone approaches the situation in the same way.
Just because you've taken your bat and ball home. Sorry, I mean just because you've asked Crystal to take your bat and ball home for you.
Personally i don`t mind league one.No parachute payments to contend with which makes it a level playing field where anybody can beat anybody on the day.I will definitely be renewing.
It’s that difficult that while this team as been appalling and embarrassing they have continued to buy other clubs. Locusts is a word not strong enough for the owners! I hope the the season tickets sales drop below 5000 .
Is any club the same as it was in 1966, or anything in life the same as it was even 5 years ago? It’s still our football club and an integral part of the fabric of our town. Paul Conway, Chien Lee et al should never be allowed to change that.
