Not getting into the whys and wherefores and certainly don’t want to defend anything this set of clowns are doing. They also should be honest and not try to dress up the pricing as being frozen if it isn’t.
That said, I saw a list somewhere recently of ST prices at various clubs in the EFL at all levels and ours must be amongst the cheapest in the country. It’s a lot cheaper than even Rotherham and Donny.

Also…why are we persisting with the use of the word seasonal. I don’t understand why it is being used, it is wrong and not being used in the correct context.

Seasonal means fluctuating or restricted according to the season or time of year. Ie seasonal fruit and veg and so on. A season ticket is a ticket, for a football season, which makes sense.

If I win the Euromillions tonight, £54 Million, I’ll offer them 5 million to bog off. But we’ll call it undisclosed.

Because to me at least, Barnsley Football Club is, and always has been, about more than just the people in charge. It's what I look forward to at the end of a long week at work, even now when the club is in a state of disrepair. I don't like the way the club is being run, not one bit. But I still have that fire in me to go every other weekend, regardless of who's calling the shots (or not) at the top.

I really don’t want to stir the hornet’s nest on this one, which means that’s likely to happen, but wasn’t the healthy bank balance only down to Patrick not taking everything he was owed at the time of the sale? Knowing we’d need it in League One if we wanted to mount a promotion challenge? If he’d have taken what he was owed we wouldn’t have started League One with Stendel in charge and Woodrow and Moore up front (eventually).

We’ve made some good signings, some poor signings, some outright awful signings, but isn’t that most 2-3 eras in the history of the football club? Add Covid and the unprecedented damage that did on top of that, and I’m not sure we’ve literally wasted a healthy bank balance. More just made some poor recruitment decisions and not entertained interest from clubs that undervalued our star assets.

After the £750,000 debacle, we had a truly dreadful close season with poor signings and the awful appointment of Schopp. The displays & results that followed surprised no one. There was the disgusting downplaying of the success we'd enjoyed in the 2020/21 season, especially when there were the complaints that we hadn't sold any of our players (conveniently ignoring the departures of Sollbauer & Chaplin). We then had the farcical situation with the West Stand. Taking too long to get shut of Schopp. Then, instead of appointing someone with the experience to rescue the season, we bring in Asbaghi, who takes defensive football to a level never seen before.
    For starters. :)

    Yes, your right.

I would hate to see the state we would be in now if Patrick hadn't left all that dollar around

That's the one that's got me. None Barnsley fans I tell that to don't believe me that the club said that.

It's been a sad year all round and I can't think of a time like it when I've actively looked for excuses not to go.

Also agree on the Defensive football. I go to be entertained and there's nothing entertaining in trying to shut up shop once you're a goal to the good.

It's just dour and boring and I don't pay my money for that.

The season ticket sales will be massively down next season.
The big worry for the owners is the match sponsors.
I'm led to beleive most are quitting at the end of this season.
Which will be a big worry for the owners.

Our wins have certainly been seasonal.

To be fair though, the person who said it, a newly appointed CEO speaking in his second language, has apologised and admitted that what he said didn’t translate very well to what he meant. I think he’s admitted that that twice now.

I don’t think it’s wrong to highlight that Val’s style of football doesn’t showcase the footballing ability of players very well. I’d never say it out loud if I was a CEO, but there’s definitely times I’ve made mistakes speaking out loud in the only language I know. So at what point do you accept the reasoning and apology?

Everything else I find 100% valid. But on this one it feels a bit petty, but that’s just me and I’m more annoyed about some of the other mistakes vs. others I know.

When someone has told numerous false statements in the short period of time that they have worked here then I think you have to understand why a lot of people think it wasn't a little oopsy because of the language barrier but was yet another deliberate lie which he didn't expect to get picked up on. I don't think it was a simple mistake at all. Maybe I'm being harsh on him but after he said that the west stand closure was nothing at all to do with redeploying stewards elsewhere only to months later admit that it WAS due to stewarding resources then I think I'm well within my rights to say the man is a liar who has simply been caught out in yet another lie

Yes, you don’t always need a Facebook page to persuade people to take the right course of action.

I won't be renewing, it will be the first time since 1989 I'll not be filling a seat at oakwell.

This is down to the Conway and Lee taking money out of the club's coffers to pay their debt.

If they paid that money back or there was a genuine change of ownership I'd be back just like the last 33 years.

i think you’re being too reasonable there Kev! The appalling stewardship of these Owners is over 4 seasons, not just this farcical one. Sometimes they’ve got lucky, usually they haven’t. Like a blind man throwing darts at a Board, sometimes they hit the 20 but usually they don’t. The three great legacies of this Board are:

    1. A Squad with no style, no pattern and no chance of being together in 2 months. We’ve gone backwards since they came.
    2. Off the field, it’s so inept and farcical, it’s not worthy of comment. A laughing stock among football league Clubs. And it’s not just the incompetency, it’s the fact they clearly don’t give a sh|t.
    3. A fan base more divided than anything I’ve seen in 50 years with levels of despondency so great, you wonder how long it will take us to come out of it. Principally, because we know that even if the Board hit the Bullseye with the dart, they will rinse and repeat the last 4 years actions and……..we’re back to Square one again, or worse.

We can't be self sufficient if a portion of the ownership is taking money out of the club.

Seasonal also means that the chips have gone up because of the new potatoes. It does not, however, mean the chips are cheaper when we're back to the old potatoes. It's only a one-directional seasonal adjustment.
