sounds good. all gets a bit blurry though, after a short while. most bands hate being compared to other bands. they must know they're gonna get immediately compared to yard act

Yard Act are the best band in the UK right now, followed by Wet Leg.

Wet Leg remind me of Black Box Recorder.

    Edit

Ok I'll back track the one song of theirs I'd heard did. Just checked out others and they don't.

not getting wet leg tbh. after seeing them last year at green man I was expecting big things, but tbh I was a bit disappointed with the follow ups to chaise longue, and was a bit underwhelmed by the album.

not sure how much competition yard act have at the minute. doesn't seem to be too many new british bands right now. they've blown up too quick though for my liking. a couple of months ago I would have said Black Country New Road blow them out the water. personally I think ants from up there is on an entirely different level to the overload. but since Isaac left, remains to be seen what comes next for em.

off to see benefits again in a coupla weeks. loud and angry.

you heard the Benefits album yet? Been sent a copy it’s fantastic. Love the anger. A howl. Think there are plenty of fantastic artists around atm. Erland Cooper and Hannah Peel are consistently great and some fantastic electronica like Warrington Runcorn Development Plan. Just think the guitar bands are weak.

Not the album, but most of the songs I know already. Off to see em again at Trades Club in April. The Bug Club are my favourite band on the planet right now. Absolutely superb. Big fan of Melin Melyn too, and Italia 90 also sounding very good. Jockstrap one of my fave albums from last year.
