A little insight into what tactics you can expect.... https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/a...n-reds-away-record-starts-at-hostile-millwall “They are good from counter-attacks especially when they are allowed to counter from deep. “We want to create a lot of chances but we have to be smart in attack, and don’t invite them to counter too much.”
So basically, we're going to sit back all game so they don't have any attacks to counter - Poya, you wiley old fox.
surely you meant May as well put Morris, Bassi AND Quina on the bench Im mainly going for the chance to wander down the Bermondsey Beer mile and have a beer or 2 on the way there and back from London Bridge Just staying in the breweries and missing the game altogether has some appeal
Just dodge Fourpure, not only has their beer gone downhill since the aussie investment, and their new (ish) tap room has taken the soul out of a tipple there.... they also allowed Sunak and dePfeffel to have a photo op there not long back. Any company who allows such soft endorsement of a vile fraudulent bunch are never going to get another penny from me.
501 final sales - fair play to everyone going down, great support for what's nearly a lost cause. Should be a good day out even if the usual happens between 3-5pm.
In fairness I usually go in the home end. They have their idiots but plenty of good people too. *note to self practice either silence or southern accent.
I don’t think anybody would blame you, i suspect that the Millwall goalkeeper could join you and nobody would notice.
The best taproom on the mile. A far cry from converting pallets and barrels in to seats and expecting you to sit in an uncomfortable warehouse/railway arch. Beer was never that great to begin with but Juicebox is half decent and they make a pretty good lager.
One of my more surreal moments as a fan. Walking back to the tube with a Millwall fan after the play off final. I'm 6'2" and 20 stone and this guy would have made two of me, looked like an ex docker. Total gentleman. Idiots spoiling for a fight either side of us but we just walked down the middle chatting about football. Nobody else said anything to us from either side. At the tube we shook hands and he said to me: fair play you've beaten us three times this season and the best team won.he also told me it was good to have a chat to an opposing fan, nobody ever did because of the idiots and their reputation.
Setting off in half an hour. If only Callum Brittain had scored late an easy chance on last week, and Jacob Brown not missed a sitter against Reading mid week, would we be just 4 points behind them with a game in hand?
I have had lots of good chats with Millwall fans over the decades. Agree, that they have some undesirable supporters but so do Barnsley.
There are a fair few BFC fans in the south. Many moons ago there was a regular northern pilgrimage on the train to Oakwell. It’s a bar now, not a tap room.
