Aye, I agree with that. If he's a success, he'll get poached. If he's a failure, the sack. I don't know how to combat that given our current regime
But Asbaghi and Schopp haven't failed because they're foreign. They've failed because they're not up to the job for whatever reason. By the same token, surely our next coach should be a woman? We've only had a 50% success rate with the men we've appointed under the current ownership.
I'll bang the Holloway drum yet again. He can certainly do 2, 3 and 4. Not at all sure he'd put up with 1 though.
No British Manager worth his salt would want anything to do with our owners and their "business model" that's why we'll always go with unknown foreigners while this lot are in charge.
Someone put a stat up the other day...... 29 out of the last 30 managers to get promoted from L1 in the last 10 years have been British. Bizarrely the only exception was Stendel in 2019. I think it might be worth a crack at a British manager next.....
The B word may well dictate that the only options that are affordable and be allowed to operate in this country are already residents here.
A little bit selective there.. Both Watford and Norwich in the prem have sacked a foreign coach this season. Two of the three clubs relegated from the prem to the championship.. WBA and Sheff U, have both sacked a foreign coach this season.. and Reading who are one off the drop have also sacked a foreign coach this season..just to even things out a bit.
I wouldn't say no to the womens Chelsea manager, seems very assertive, knowledgeable and seems wouldn't stand for no ****.I also think that young mens psyche would adhere to a female touch(not being sexist).
