Watched it over the weekend. While I was well aware of the whole case seeing the interviews he gave over the years was chilling with hindsight.
Agreed. As though he was goading everyone. Always telling the same stories and getting laughed at when he was actually admitting what he was up to. Top down from Thatcher and Prince Charles, lots of people allowed him to continue and get away with all of his hideous crimes.
The clip of him on 'have I got news for you', with Ian Hislop looking incredibly uncomfortable next to him was the worst one. I've forgotten what the "joke" was exactly, but there was distinct laughter from the audience over that one. Wasn't it something like, 'I like them old and young, all shapes and sizes' etc.
It made me cringe. I was aware of a lot of the stuff in his first, rarely available autobiography in the 70's, and this docco pretty much backed up his phrases, mannerisms and basic 'hidden in plain sight' admissions. Very uncomfortable viewing.
The Louis Theroux one after Saville had died is a good one to watch. It keeps referring back to his original documentary with him in the early 2000s. There's sections of it that make you cringe in hindsight, but at the time, Louis said he thought they were just harmless eccentricities.
You can watch a stream of both parts and any other show you want to watch here from any platform here..... https://watchseriestv.top/tv/watch-jimmy-savile-a-british-horror-story-full-online-78943 Being in with Thatcher and Prince Charles you can see why so many waited until he had died until they came forward.
I think it was. “You used to be a wrestler didn’t you jimmy?” He replied “I still am, I’m feared in every girl school in the country” Hideous man. I am too young to really remember him on the television and only saw the back end of him every so often on the box. That documentary was disturbing throughout. It must’ve been horrendous for those kids, and others, (the documentary stated his victims ranged from 5 to 75 years of age) to see that monster shaking hands and rubbing shoulders with people like Prince Charles, Thatcher, The Beatles etc. How on earth could they report that to the police when they’re seeing that on the tele each night. Who would believe a word they said? Awful.
All aided and abetted by the BBC. A priest who was head of religious programming at the BBC has admitted that he KNEW Jimmy Savile was regularly having sex with children but did absolutely nothing about it. That dirty ******* was allowed near kids in churches too and has never faced any charges. The controller of radio one knew about it. He did a little digging and asked Jimmy who said he hadn't done owt so he stopped investigating. Didn't go to anyone higher than him or the police or anything, just took a paedophiles word that he wasn't one. And let's not forget that two children DID report Jimmy Savile to the top of the pops during filming for sexually assaulting them. What did the BBC and top of the pops producers do? They told one girl she was lying and literally threw the other put of the studio for being a liar. Even the news of the world ran an article in the 70s about him assaulting girls at top of the pops but still the BBC did nothing.
Makes you sick. Surely there should be something in place for people who knew. Saville, Rotherham grooming gangs, Weinstein, Epstein etc. All the people who knew but didn't say? I don't mean victims/peasant people like us. I mean the elites, people in positions of power. I suppose it'd be hard to prove without direct evidence, but seeing how prevalent it is with these celebrity/public persons, it's disgraceful.
It is a clear reminder that just because someone is a celebrity they shouldn't be seen as any different to you or I. Everyone is capable of doing bad things and nobody should be beyond the law.
And then you’ve got Tory MPs like this, defending a convicted (not accused, actually convicted) nonce.
