Great news happy with that. He's going to be a big asset to have around next season.

    Well done board.

Great news, under the circumstances. Would have been very understandable if he'd held off while he looked to see if there was any Championship interest.

Excellent news. Genuinely surprised we’ve managed to persuade him to sign.

So am I. I know he hasn't played much for us yet, but I think he's shown enough that he would have generated some interest at Championship level on a free.

He’s the John Stones Mk 2. Big money to come for him in the not too distant future.

So pleased we’re not losing him for nothing. Finally a bit of light in a dismal tunnel we’re going through.

I’m absolutely delighted with this. Would have been nice to see more than two years but still, excellent.

Can’t really give too much credit for doing something any semi professional club should do.

Where did you get that figure? It was a reported £3m fee to Everton then a big sell on fee when he moved to City. Still not enough mind you

Are you sure? He came through Man City's academy and left there to join us at 18/19 years old I think.
Doubt we can claim any development fee on that basis but I could be wrong.

He's a player we need to build a side around next season IMO. Good news at last to report.

I thought Patrick confirmed at a meeting in the Old No 7 that the fee was circa £2.2m. Which at the time was a bit of a shock as Flitcroft had said in the media he valued him at £5m and general reports inferred a fee of around £3m with the add ons.

Obviously Man city taking a fancy to him added another £9m to his fee when he moved from Everton, the payment of which was the reason our current owners had something of a war chest at their disposal which they've gone on to fritter.
