They’ll just put the fines on expenses and carry on , Sunak will probably find a way to make it tax deductible

A dab of novichok on a Windsor Castle door knob during their next weekly meeting should do it.

    Oh, I’m fuming at this!

    1) staff rooms were closed and rooms had signs on them saying how many staff could enter at a time to use sink or kettle etc. and there was to be no hanging around in there, people ate lunch in classrooms or cars and had to leave straight away at the end of the day

    2) alcohol has not been allowed on school premises for years and is a sackable offence

Personally, I don't believe having drinks at a party, or parties, is justification for losing your job ...

    ..unless :

    a) you had been responsible for introducing law on public health grounds making it illegal
    b) stating publicly that you did not break the law
    c) Changed that to stating publicly that you had not thought that your actions broke the law in any way.

Certainly no one especially a Prime Minister of the country and/or Chancellor of the Exchequer could possibly be so brazen as to demonstrate a complete lack of integrity (lie) and believe they could get away with the above claims given the inevitable and justifiable outrage from the public who were following protocol ...'Oh! Hang on!

Seriously the problem I have is that I do not believe now is the time to 'get rid' due to the Ukraine situation, but more importantly the complete lack of a suitable candidate(s) to replace him/them. Liz Truss!!!??? Argghhhh!! However, a week in politics is an eternity and with no sign Putin's war ending any time soon, we could be in for a long wait and Johnson could ride out the storm
    even if Sunak goes.

His position though IS untenable and, even if by some miracle he comes out of the Ukraine situation 'smelling of roses', the knives must be out on the Conservative benches as he will be an election liability.

We changed Prime Minister during the Second World War so I hardly think a conflict we're not even involved in is just cause to keep these shitbags.

Yerbut Britain had at least the prospect of finding someone with at least a modicum of integrity and intelligence as a replacement. Who could possibly replace him from within teh shower we have in Govt now? Like I said, TRuss? Fabricant? Reese Mogg?? The list of unsuitable candidates is endless!!

The words of Michael Fabricant are as ridiculous as his wig.

It's little surprise the first out of the traps to defend the indefensible are Nadine Dorries and Michael Fabricant.

Even 55% of tory voters think Johnson knowingly lied. With 75% of the wider population believing so.

They knowingly broke the law which was bad.
Then they blatantly lied which is inexcusable. Can never ever be trusted again.
    They must go.

Further to the above, just two weeks ago to the day we got an email saying all staff meetings had to go back to being virtual or socially distanced where there were 2 or more adults in a room. Briefings were cancelled and email bulletins were sent out in the morning instead.

We’ve been doing all we can to limit staff mixing to ensure school can remain open for the past 2 years. We certainly haven’t been meeting up for drinks after work. At one point, staff in each department were strictly forbidden from being in the same room as each other so that a whole area couldn’t be wiped out, forcing us to close.

DePfeffel just done his faux apology face, akin to a guilty dog having piddled on the carpet.

He respects the police fining him (though can't bring himself to say he accepts it) and his line of defence, even though he says he's paid it (or someone has) is that he didn't realise the 10 minute (allegedly) gathering was illegal. Even though he was in charge of the rules.

This is going to run for a while, and I suspect he's likely to get more fines. This was one of the more basic gatherings, there are allegedly at least another 5 he was involved in.

His "apology " was basically "I was very busy and working hard on my birthday.....feel sorry for me"

He won’t go immediately but it’s a matter of time now. The writing is on the wall. We’ve still got the Sue Gray report too. No way he leads the Tories into the next election.

But would whoever replaces him do anything different with regards to Ukraine, I don't think so; hence it's an irrelevance and he should go for what he's done and said regarding breaking the law and lying to Parliament.

I thought he might have used the Cummingsesque defence of “I was drinking the wine to test my taste buds after covid”.

I just can not believe Johnson has not resigned, although he attended parties, but because he lies through his back teeth to parliament regarding these parties and it has come to light that, that slimy ******* Sunak was also at these parties as he also lied to parliament about these parties when you lie to parliament you are lying to the people of the country.

It shouldn't be a question of resigning. Lying in parliament should be grounds for dismissal

The last time he was sacked for lying to the House of Commons, he had a boss.

I suspect the May elections will be the bell weather. Notable just how few tories have come out in defence yet.
