Isn't the answer to those who say "what's the point if you stick it online afterwards?" that they get the opportunity to ask questions, those viewing afterwards don't
But Loko, are you really willing to discount the other stuff? Like the £750k, the West Stand debacle, casting about looking for ground share possibilities, court cases etc. etc. ??!! It’s totally not all down to last Summer. As much as I admire your positivity, surely it’s you who is being unrealistic.
750k Only the owners can answer that West Stand. he answered it again last night. There were problems, it got fixed. I sit in the west stand. it wasn't great but it happens. Ground share. Andrew Clarke said to a few of us early that the last one from Leon was very old news.
But what specifically did he say about the west stand? Did he say what had been done to combat the supposed unique situation where fans were openly drinking in view of the pitch? What remedial work had taken place to stop the wall falling? (Which could only fall inwards, not outwards and only to fans destined for the west stand not ponty end) or what changes had been made to the refreshment stands to make then disabled friendly? Why the lower tier was closed when it has no void? Why he changed his story about stewards etc? It's all well and good answering it but if he keeps focusing on only one of his many excuses he loses any credibility
Do I think the £750k and the West Stand debacle have led to our failings on the pitch? No. Because we finished 5th in the Championship when some of that was going on. The main reason as I see it, for not building on successes this ownership group have led us to, is down to the two Summers that Paul Conway was acting CEO. A lot more so the recent one than the one with Stendel in charge. The points you raise are definitely why a lot of us are so disgruntled. I certainly don't discount them, but it's not enough to stop me going to Oakwell yet.
I think we're happy to host events in person, now that COVID restrictions are over. And will either put the recorded content (video) online in full, or condensed some time after the event. It feels like a good balance. But we'll continue to explore other avenues too. As for TikTok, it's on the list. As was stated at last night's event, we're about to see new additions to our department, which will hopefully allow us to improve our offerings from a media/marketing/commercial POV. That's the aim. We've been understaffed for years, so this is a good forward step and should give us a bit more time, more hands etc to focus on additional content. Also, one of the new starters (one of our interns this season, who has now got a full-time role, proving that scheme to be effective once again) is a TikTok whiz so it's certainly on the agenda.
I'll put this 'full day' experience to him. But he does have obligations on a matchday that he has to meet.
It's not an obsession loko. It was reported he said he targeted 11000 season ticket sales. Some of us said that is ridiculous. You then said he didn't say it. Turns out he did say it. Why try and twist his words into something else?
Have just read through the last few pages of this thread. Let me see if I’m understanding this right. @Bossman wants to sell squirrel porn to 11,000 people?
It’s clearly the way you see it. Even if I don’t see it the same way I respect your views. I hope the club repays your loyalty. I feel like it has betrayed mine.
Ah, but now it transpires he said that back in September he set himself an 11000 target for next season, before this season's shït show unfolded.
I never said that, you said that, I said I’d like to try achieve 11k not that I’m actually going to achieve 11k,
Mother of god! Is there actual footage of this meeting so we can figure out what was actually said and in what context?
First rule of CEO club ensure the communication is so poor that no one can agree what was even said let alone assess what was said. Twisted Genius.
