I've gone Schopp as the worst manager but I actually think Asbaghi was a worse appointment if that makes any sense. There was a modicum (but only a modicum) of logic to going back to the same 'well' after Struber and Val but Asbaghi was totally the wrong man, in the wrong place at the wrong time and the '99.9% autonomy man' needs to take responsibility for that.
Let’s not forget the numpty that appointed poya and he,s gonna appoint the next one if they get rid of him.
I've been a bit sympathetic for poya up to today but what kind of manager changes the system after a great performance away at Swansea to the same system and team that was woeful the week before at Millwall??? I can only think they are trying to get Callum Styles transfer fee up and Gomes must have a clause that says he plays every minute. Both have been very poor in recent weeks yet the manager still sees for to play them both and leave out our best midfielder. It must come as a massive surprise when our midfield gets overrun when there's no presence in there. Poor display and poor management...
Some interesting names there, all worthy of making the shortlist. Schopp gets it for me though, with Poya a worthy runner up. It’s totally beyond my comprehension how either of them have managed to get anywhere near coaching at this level. Reminds me of that bloke who managed to convince Graeme Souness he was George Weah’s cousin
I honestly think Poya is the worst of the two this season. Had a much better squad, his own backroom team and much longer. Woeful, and worse than anything I’ve seen in my time - I go back to Wilson mk 1. Rate both this season’s offerings lower than Spackman, Parkin, even Morais.
I agree. Schopp was terrible, but in many ways was left to clear up the pre-season shambles single-handedly. I actually felt sorry for the bloke, as I can't help thinking that the club he arrived at was in a far worse state than he expected. Poya has had more games, backroom staff, and investment into the squad... and still can't even be trusted to bring the subs on at the right time. Shocking manager, just shocking.
How thoroughly depressing - we'd had some shocking Coaches - but even in the darkest times, nothing feels as bad as it does now. The Club is rotting away on and off the pitch.
Iley stabilised the club after a truly disastrous period of its history, and laid the foundations for Allan Clarke to build on. IMHO his reputation and place in our history is unfairly maligned.
The poll is for the worst of all time. Schopp, Asbaghi & McSeveney are my top three. Spackman comes in fourth, followed by Parkin, then Morais.
Tim Ward was the 1st Manager I can remember right through to this guy, the worst was McSeveney, followed by little Lee.
Mcseveny to Spackman 28 years. Spaceman to Schopp 21 years. Schopp to Poya 17 days. To have 2 of our worst 4 managers in the last 50 years in the same season is quite something
Poya is worse than Schopp. Post Poya appointment we signed a couple of players and had a couple more return from injury. We've only lost Woodrow to injury out of our best 11.
