There is a obviously a lot of money in this division. Or at least owners who are paying a lot out (and getting in debt). But I don’t believe for one second that we can’t compete at this level.

It’s been mistake after mistake since the playoffs last season. That’s what has caused this. Correct decisions from the top and we’d have been fine this season but nope, just so many mistakes.

Why should we be able to compete, what have we to offer players to want to come here and perform to the top of their game?
Do we have a supportive fan base, big crowds cheering them on, do we have coaches improving them as footballers, have we got companies fighting to sponsor us, have we got a stunning stadium? Do we have a thriving town so they can move here and raise their families or fantastic restaurants and nightlife.
    What actually have we got?

What we have is moaning fans who want it all and give next to nothing back.

There are enough small teams in the Championship (and increasingly so) making us look like mugs without overspending or parachute payments. We are not asking for promotion, merely that we should be able to make a good fist of it.

The hobbyist accountants on here are making it sound like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are just above us in the league. There are a group of 8-10 clubs without massive financial backing.

We supporters need to take a good look in the mirror - it’s us that make Oakwell an intimating place to come and play …. But we sit on our asses and moan rather than singing and shouting like we used to …..
There is a pile of issues at Oakwell but we are also on that list.
    Shame on us all ….

yeah you are right it’s all the fans fault. People supported the club financially when there was no hope of seeing games. You belittle this and quite frankly disgust me slagging off the fans and excusing the 80%

Idiotic nonsense. Why do you think they all the clubs the 80% own are in exactly the same place as us.

This season we had more season ticket holders than Coventry, Luton, Blackburn, Blackpool. They all did far better than us on similar budgets

One man has put us where we are for me. Paul Conway playing CEO last summer has destroyed us. Terrible player recruitment and a disastrous appointment of Schopp as a coach. Mind you, Khaled has topped him with Poya. What a joke of a season….

Sickening stuff as per usual from the OP.

Of all the people to blame for the failures of this season, the fans are not one.

The key difference between us and the other smaller budget clubs in the championship is that their main aim is to win football matches.

Our approach of acting as a profitable football nursery does not have winning football games at its core.

Our club needs to go back to having winning football games as it’s main goal. We can compete on our budget.

The problem is that these actions, far from being profitable have proved profligate. The firm financial base these owners took over has been frittered away.

Total rubbish. Provide a team that gets people on their feet. Then you'll get the support.

Absolute nonsense. You seem to be forgetting the 11,000 who supported the Club by renewing STs without seeing a ball kicked.

    Are you Paul Conway?

Appalling take. The club should strive to provide a good place to work for back room staff (ie, not a place that has a mass exodus), which then provides a place where players can develop.

In return, several thousand fans bought season tickets for a season where fans in the ground was always a long shot, then sold over 10k for this season.

It’s not the fans that didn’t live up to their side of the bargain.

Instead of having a go why don't you read what I've put and answer the questions. What do we offer as a club and a fan base? We are brilliant fans when it's going well.

I will repeat Schopp and Poya have been terrible, the owners recruiting of these two has been pathetic, bad decisions made and no money put in.

We know this it's obvious and there are thousands of boring repetitive post saying exactly the same thing over and over again but dare criticise people who pay £13 a game.
