The last week or so - including today - that I've been proper proud of the supporters who I've spoken with. Courteous, humorous, polite, respectful and in one or two cases, just sheer class to deal with. It's only brought it home even further, that it has to be a lot better than this. Thank you for not giving us grief, thank you for your understanding and to John (@Orared) in particular who I spoke to post-match today, I left our conversation this evening buddy feeling even more motivated than ever. Thank you so much.
Your name actually came up in my pub chat at the Mount this evening, Can't say it word for word, but it was on the lines that that good staff at Oakwell don't deserve this season.
Absolutely nothing but praise for the hard working employees of Barnsley football club who, like the fans have been badly let down by the owners and decision makers.
Thanx buddy, I like to think i say it as I see it, and my glass is nearly always half full. Thank you for your time and effort to contact me. COYR
No-one reasonable or sane would give the ordinary staff members grief. You guys are the lifeblood of the club, and have been let down just as badly as supporters. There's a lot of frustration and anger around, particularly after today's result, but anyone aiming it in yours or Beth's, etc direction needs to give their head a serious shake.
Anything good that’s come out of this season, has come from people at the Club who actually give a fk about it.
But that's the thing, I've felt nothing but love. And it's not always been that way. I'm absolutely flattered by the class of our fanbase this last few weeks. It means a ****** lot. And I know there's a much brighter future ahead. It's why I crack on. Others lost that faith and jumped. I'm not easily beaten.
You'll never quite understand how much that conversation strengthened me. Can't thank you enough. And I'm looking forward to coming 'home' to Elsecar in the near future!
Eh up, OUR flag is in good hands.I'll be there next season & your contribution is far better & valuable, keep up the fantastic work.
Firstly, can I just say that those on the coal face so to speak do a great job, but I'm not sure I agree with the last line. Are you criticising folk who haven't been yesterday and calling them 'easily beaten'? I didn't go yesterday and won't be for the foreseeable, but I'm certainly not easily beaten. It's taken months of grinding me down into submission through sheer incompetence and contempt.
I am probably wrong but i read it as other club employees who have jumped ship and gone to different clubs
Some good staff behind the scenes and in office staff but a lot of fans are so peed off with how the owners run the club . This relegation is all self inflicted and due to mismanagement from above
Just wondered how you know there's a much brighter future ahead for the club? Surely you can't say that with any kind of honesty while the current owners are in place? And if you're talking about other employees losing faith and jumping, maybe they just didn't want to work under the worst owners the club have ever endured? I know I wouldn't. I'm guessing your unshakable love for the club allows you to see past their catastrophic failings? This is not me having a pop at you, I know you do a superb (and sometimes thankless) job, but it's so hard to listen an employee say what you're saying while the fans are watching the club being systematically ripped to bits by people that don't care.
I'm wondering too. Especially after @Gally's enigmatic comment on the thread that was locked recently. If there's something happening, something to look forward to, then I wish someone would tell me. Preferably before 29th April.
I'm glad it's been like that for you Andy, far too often at work the employees bear the brunt of it when the owners/managers make poor decisions. I do think the vast majority of Barnsley fans do appreciate how hard you all work and that you want the best for the club you support. Thank you.
