That’s only two places left for promotion in l1 imo.
There’ll still be spending millions on players next season and EFL will do naff all to stop it .

Only if someone buys them who is prepared to bankroll them. Id still have them favourites to go up mind

The fat lady has sung at Derby and will be on stage at about 8pm in Huddersfield on Friday

Havent people said that about sunderland for the past 5 years. Some big clubs in that league next season to get out you need a plan and a style of football something our owners or manager dont have.

Daft thing is Marlon. Derby after a good start. Have only matched our points total from since the transfer window ended. 16pts from 15 games. I reckon they will offload some of the top earners.
They will probably be in the mix. But will. Like other big names in L1 have to contend will all the others putting that little extra effort in.
The top 5 at the mo are not moneybag owners. To my knowledge. And the big name clubs look like spending another season in league 1. Hopefully.
    Edit.
Just googled wigan owner. Seems minted.

Well driving up the M1 on a Friday night is more appealing than watching out capitulation at Huddersfield so I’d say good thing

Yes but even a win (haha) will only delay the inevitable a bit longer

Look at the togetherness in relegation between players, management and fans. Then compare to ourselves :( I can't imagine Poya fronting up with the fans outside the ground.

Whilst I'm not excusing our players, they have had the global sympathy vote. Whilst having a squad of players on wages we could only dream of.
Points deduction aside they would have had a very average campaign and their fans would have been on the turn.

    I'm not excusing ours.
In the sense of ffp. Wigans owner might take a gamble ours won't. The other clubs don't appear to be bankrolled. In fact transfer dealings for all of them (Top 5) for this season appear astute. Vast numbers of free transfers. They are getting it right on the field. Our lot following a strategy that is failing. No matter what.
So all I'm trying to say is. we can compete with the so called big names. By altering the strategy of age limit to start with.

The plan worked 2018/19,unbeaten at home all season.Maybe it was just lucky that they appointed a good manager.

You’re so right. As I have said on another thread, our key problem in my view is a lack of continuity. As demonstrated by the likes of the Lutons, Coventrys and Blackpools of this world it is possible to survive and thrive in the championship without throwing mountains of money at it. All three have done it with British coaches and both Jones and Robbins have been at the respective clubs for a number of years. Okay I know they both left but at least Luton and Coventry had the good sense to bring them back home when they became available.
