Maybe Colins done you like kipper Interesting story and you do hear of one or two like these that do make you wonder... i once went to one out of interest in a 121 and she was obviously a downright con artist stealing a probably very good living.
Mate you really seem like a disbeliever, I’ve seen it for myself, it happened one Saturday night after a match, a few of us were in Joseph Bramahs and suddenly…I swear this is true…a ghostly apparition in the shape of whitey was stood at the bar getting a round in, to say I was shocked and unnerved was an understatement, if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it. It still gives me shivers to this day.
Untrue. Certain things I believe possible, but Whitey getting a round in; in this life, a previous life or the after life is just not one of them.
Er sort of what I said. Few others (ie people in the Air Ministry who weren't scientists) believed radar would work. Dowding did. Without his backing and belief in radar when at the experimental stage in the mid 1930s we wouldn't have had it up and running by 1940. Belief and science working together.
It’s probably more common than you think. I have no opinion about what it may be, but it seems to be an energy that we don’t yet know about. Remember the amazing things that we have now that science has delivered, including this phone that I’m typing on now. Before it was discovered it would have been called magic, or supernatural. There is a quote I heard from Arthur C Clarke “advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. If I think of my younger self trying to explain a cell phone, I would have been laughed out of the club. This isn’t supernatural it’s future science.
I don't see how his role in developing radar is in any way an endorsement of him believing in fairies. It's just a non sequitur, like the fact that I know a successful businessman who thinks the world is flat, they're completely unrelated.

Your original post said nothing about the 'few others' referring only to air force hierarchy. I'm also still missing the link with his belief system playing an intrinsic part in the UK war effort. Still, it made a nice story
