Just ploughing through the Sundays and the following becomes apparent. In reporting ALL the Premier league matches and starting formations it is suggested that , Arsenal - Back four, Man. U., back four, Norwich, Back four, Newcastle, back four! See where this is going? In point of fact they suggest that of all yesterday's Premier League fixtures ONLY Brentford and Tottenham failed to line up with a back four. Of all the other immense challenges facing the new coach perhaps one easier one is to start to defend flanks properly?

Forest Green 4-4-2. Simple but effective top of the league. No need for complicated stuff really

Nothing wrong with playing 3 at the back if we’re going to utilise our wing backs and play three complementary centre backs.
Two big strong ones and one quick one who can play out from the back playing between them.
Two traditional centre mids, a number 10 and two strikers. At the start of the season we had the players to do this.

It all depends on player recruitment and availability. Sometimes it's not possible for a multitude of reasons and failings. I'd do it every week if possible.

I'll never understand the need for anything other than 4-4-2.

    It works.

So does 3-4-3 but you have to have the players to be able to play this system,

Didn’t mind Poya’s formation when we had at Williams or Kitching playing a role that meant they started at full back and tucked in to make a back 3 when we defended. But it’s not a system we can make work when your full backs are Brittain and Vita. Think we’ve conceded a few goals recently when Brittain has missed a challenge when tucking inside. And giving Quina the job of tracking back into a wingback role was just stupid. As displayed by the second goal on Friday.

I’d go 442, with Bassi or Woodrow playing just off Morris, and Quina and Styles on the flanks.

Wilsons promotion team was 352 as was his Premier League team nothing wrong with 3 center halves and wingbacks if the players are capable and understand their roles and responsibilities sadly ours don't appear to at the moment but that could be down to poor coaching time will tell.

It's only in appendix Z at the back of the "Football Coaching for Dummies" manual; our coaching selection system doesn't account for those that haven't read that far.

All I'd ponder before even considering saying yes to the job is its my gaff. Nobody dictates to me. I'm paid to manage and I'll do that. No interference. No influence. Get helped or assisted by people with footballing experience. If not then find someone else.

I wouldn't play Bassi or Quina ...... Or anyone who's not going to be in the squad next season. What's the point ?!?

Don't think it really matters at all to be honest. Whatever team and formation we pick for these 3 games will have no bearing on next season.

If I was disco I'd be on blower to Blackpool Preston and West brom asking if they'd mind us playing a mix of u23 and u18 now we all don't have anything to play for. I'd fck the 1st off now they've let us all down.
I'd go with 4 4 2 as its looking like it's heading that way. Keep it simple.

Might not be able to field a team if that’s the criteria.

If Devaney wants the job he isn't going to get it by playing kids and losing 3 games.

Why not ? We've got rid of 2 managers with 6 wins between them since August with a full squad to choose from.

Another option ???? Playing folk who've continually let us down and got us relegated when most will be shipped out.

Are they going to stave us from relegation? Oh wait a minute. Wouldn't you prefer some lads who are here next season getting some game time ?

Absolutely right. No one would criticise disco For blooding a few, or game time for the bench. In fact I'd not play any of the loanees. And possibly a couple of others who have been offering little or nothing. I don't know how much woodrow is away from full fitness. Let him get ready for next season fully fit and not crocked this.
