Not sure. I just saw an article in today’s Sunday Post linking Enzo Maresca with the Celtic job. Probably just newspaper speculation but it does suggest he maybe out of our reach especially after being relegated.
Maresca was being linked with Sunderland I believe as well before Neil took over. He was at Man City so could be a call that.
Reminds me of when Nick Faldo played cupid by introducing his caddy (Fanny Sunnelsen ??) to Vijay Singh so it would make her Fanny Singh Bdum tish
Sorry but not read through all the thread but does anyone know if Disco has been asked if he even wants the job full time?
Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s Lee Johnson. Can’t see us appointing a manager in work as that would mean paying compo.
I hope not , in fact I hope we do not approach any ex managers , Alan Clarke & Danny Wilson were both fantastic first time round & both disasters on their returns , please no second time rounders .
We need someone who can forge a connection with the fan base after the past 3 appointments. Disco ticks that box but doesn’t have anything else going for him as far as I can see.
We’ve paid compo for three of the last four coaches. Add to that the fact that we’ve paid a fee for virtually every permanent signing, we don’t half spend a lot of money for a club that makes a virtue of being sustainable
I don't see the issue with the new coach not been British. We've had brilliant coaches from Europe - Stendel and Ismael immediately spring to mind. We've also had terrible British coaches - Spackman, Parkin et Al. He can be from Mars for all I care - as long as we win some games.
I think I've read that 27 out of the 30 managers of promoted teams from league 1 recently have been British. Daniel was the exception to the rule.
