I keep reading that Colin would have saved us but by the same token the BBS has been almost universal in saying due to the summer misgivings this is the weakest spineless unfit squad in our history. Its quite possible due to the summer chaotic dealings we were beyond safety this year.
Every coach will tell you that preseason is the most important part of the upcoming season and our preparation fell well short.
I'd like to wish Poya all the best in his future career.I think BFC for him was the wrong club at the wrong time.
I would like to see all the league tables from the time Poya was appointed to see how many clubs coped whilst in the bottom 3.

    Who could have saved us?

Depends on when you're talking from.

Straight after Schopp, anyone with a degree of managerial experience could have saved us.

But they went for a dude who coached under 23s.

Considering the summer transfer window, and to a degree the January window. Considering that the board have an input in style of play, and are rumoured to have an input in team selection, I don't think there's anyone who we could have realistically brought in who would have saved us.

A lot of people refer to us having a similar team to last season, but it's not entirely the same team. We're also playing in a way (as instructed by the board it seems), that is completely at odds with the team we have.

Warnock might have kept us up, if he was given free reign of tactics, team selection, transfers etc. But under this regime? I don't even think he'd have accepted the role, knowing what it entailed.

It is a terrible squad but I think as well as being terrible skill wise a lot of it is terrible attitude and application. Benson, Palmer, Iseka, Cole etc have all taken the piss. A manager like Warnock wouldn't have stood for that and they'd have put effort in for him. The reason I think that is because Palmer was putting effort in for a strong manager like Val yet under two weak managers he's taken the piss

I believe we’ve been relegated in what was a very weak/ poor league this season and with better coaching could and should’ve avoided relegation. Look at the points we’ve lost due to the late goals we’ve conceded as a starting point. You finish where you deserve to finish at the end of the season, but even with the limitations in our squad we should’ve avoided relegation with better coaching imo

I've just checked the league tables starting in November when Poya arrived at Oakwell and almost every team who were in the bottom 3 in there respective divisions are still there.Premiership in bottom 3 Norwich and Burnley.
Championship Barnsley and Derby Posh 4th
    League 1 Crewe and Doncaster
    League 2 Scunthorpe and Oldham.
Those facts to me suggest once the rot has set its hard to get out of no matter who you are or who you appoint.
As Khaled said a few weeks ago we have to look at why we continually have bad starts and address it.

Warnock would have kept us up . We wouldn’t have had players sulking after going 1 down in most games. Palmer, benson and Cole wound have been put in the under 23’s . We would have got some experience in January . He should have been hired ! Stupid decision to hire Poya!
The club is now in free fall, redundancies will happen, season tickets will be low and the pathetic players will leave en masse.

Tbh anyone with half a football brain.. Warnock, McCann, StendeI, I would even say Paul Ince would have realised with players we have..
a/ don't try to pass too may times in your own half, because you're all mainly 5hit'e at it..
b/ don't try to defend any lead, because you're all 5'hite at that also..
But unlike you BM.. I'm sure Poya will still be here next season the way our CEO performs it's looks nailed on.. so he'll very much get a pre-season.
With our budget for next season to be akin to 10-12 in L1. I think a very average coach in Poya is actually quite capable of a average L1..
But be too disappointed if there's not too many others sat near you sharing the experience..

Bit lacking in central midfield still but if you look at the team we’ve had on the pitch since January it’s not bad at all.

Stendel woukd have tried to win matches. Warnock would have made sure we didn't lose our lead. Poya was clueless, no getting away from that

The reason for the bad starts is simple the recruitment of too many young inexperienced players nowhere near ready to play in the division we are in and expecting them to perform straight away. It's not rocket science the way the recruitment and retention policy is being implemented is the reason along with a terrible coaching appointment last summer to make matters worse then repeated.

No one knows if warnock would have saved us but it was pretty obvious the 37year old swedish u23s manager wasnt the right man for the survival mission.

I think a manager/coach with a positive approach to winning games may have seen us safe or a damn sight closer to survival.

I honestly think any competent football manager with some football league experience would have kept us up. I really do.

Warnock would probably have had us lower mid table. The squad was and is poor - but this was such a poor division with so many pretty average teams, I really think we had more than enough if coached and organised properly.
