Bit more of upbeat poll this time.

Based on performances while playing for us who do you think has been the best forward.

I can add extra options if you request them

will narrow it down to a final 3 after the first round.

Difficult choice for me. Comparing modern footballers with older ones Is difficult but quality wins out.

Currie is probably my favourite forward. The sight of him running at defenders was beautiful to see.

In terms of quality I have had to vote for Ward. In the form of his life with us. Strong. Mobile. Good in the air and on the ground. Very difficult to play against. So Ward it is for me.

Have to agree with Ward, although Hendrie gave us the impetus to reach the PL. Both played in the PL as well, so torn between those two. The rest are playing for 3rd place

Gone for Ward. Absolutely loved him during his time with us. He was a complete forward, though lacked a touch of pace. Can’t help but think if we’d had for all of PL season, we may have stayed up.

    Ward.

But can I give a shout for David Geddis too?

Geddis is a good shout. He was excellent in his spell with us.

If you base it purely on performances playing for us, then you may also want to consider Fletcher. Personally I would alos add Andy Payton and Wayne Biggins to the list as they both had decent spells where they scored for fun.

On pure finishing, Mick Butler takes some beating.

How could we forget Tommy Taylor?

    Allan Clarke wasn’t bad either.

I can add Taylor but will enough people have seen him actually play to make it worthwhile?

What, no Mick Butler? :( In that case, I'll go for Ashley Ward.

In the time I've watched us, from 1980/81, I think he's the only player to average less than 2 games per goal scored.
