Losses pre any player trading of £5m last time in a successful league one campaign. That was with a wage bill of £8.1m.

The club goes in to the next season in league one with likely negative assets after a loss of around £3 or 4m this year, no cash on balance sheet and a wage bill of around £14m.

If anyone is in any doubt how big a hole we are in, a reduction in wages of £6m coupled with player sales of around £8m are required to get the club through the next season. Unless the club receive external financing..

I think the board will basically get rid of anyone they can make a fast buck on - then you have kids and sub standard players left and maybe a bit of money left over to buy a couple of seasoned div 1 players - to make that scenario work in div 1 which is a tough league to get out of imo you need a tough uncompromising manager who will take no **** from anyone - Warnock springs to mind - if the board get in some joker nobody has heard of then the same scenario as we have just had will play out and we will go down again - that is how I see it

Over the last 2 years. Not many of the signings have been unqualified success in their own right or as investments to sell on. Morris and Helik you can point to out of what 15 signings. I’d imagine the cost of the others in terms of fees and wages would outweigh any benefits we get from those 2.

Apologies if I have missed anyone out. It’s early and I’m weary.

We may be an attractive club to some players and to some head coaches. But owners at war. A decaying ground we don’t own. Massive cost cutting. Large debts. Best players about to be sold. A demoralised squad. Massive churn on back room staff etc some leaving to do less prestiges jobs due to working conditions. There’s as much bad as good.

Discuss what? I've said what I've said. Hardly think it's a serious allegation, more just making an educated guess. Anyway block me, delete my account for all I care. This board is a lot like the club at the minute, a horrible place to be.

In fact do it, shut my account down. I'm out.

I genuinely don't know what to think about next season.

Things always look $hit for the following season when you get relegated. Always do. People tend to forget previous seasons where it's happened. By definition you've had a terrible season, and it's natural to feel negative about what's coming next. In that sense, I don't think this season is too different to others where we've been relegated.

It's also easy to forget the gap in quality between Championship and League 1, when predicting what's ahead. Totally different level for me. Yes we'll take a big hit financially, but so has everyone else in there. If we sell 6-7k STs, that feels about par for the course to me, and I imagine would still put us in the top 6ish in terms of budget. Despite being absolute gash on and off the pitch this year, I still believe Barnsley FC in League 1 will be a big opportunity for many professional footballers.

The biggest problem for me, is that we have absolute parasites running the Club, who don't seem to know or care about professional football, Barnsley or Barnsley Football Club. When I look at their portfolio of Clubs, I genuinely have absolutely no idea what their mission is. It apparently isn't to build successful football Clubs, because literally every one of them is doing absolute $hite and losing money. It's got to the point where people are seriously considering illicit activities, e.g. money laundering, as being the actual purpose. I would have to see evidence of that, but from the outside looking in, right now it probably looks more likely than building successful football Clubs.

There's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to build a competitive squad next season, based on the player budget and sponsorship deals we'll still have to play with. Whether or not that happens, remains to be seen. We've seen what happens when Conway has a hand in operational decision making and player signings. We've also seen how they've gladly used Club funds to repay their debts, so who knows how much of our money in will actually be used for operational budget.

The players need a rocket up their ar$e, and no one seems willing to do it. The captain doesn't, the players don't, the coaches don't. There are no leaders at the Club, willing to be honest. None. Then you have players like Callum Brittain, pointing at others, when he's one of the worst performing players in our squad.

I was mildly disappointed with Disco post-match last night. I wanted fire and brimstone, and didn't see it. I genuinely would clear the lot out and start again, with players who actually give a fk. Their performances are a disgrace to the shirt, and when you watch last night, their attitude as professional footballers makes me angry. The pre-match interviews mean nothing to me anymore. They're just lying. To us and to themselves.

Did you watch moon or kitchen last night? Or ICD? barely looked like professional footballers. Walton is a decent keeper and Wolfe will be good at that level but I'm afriad I disagree with your assessment of the rest of them. Schmidt can't even get a game at VNL level, and neither LI or Cole were able to hold down regular places in a team crying out for pace and strength up front.

Nor is league one quite the gulf in quality we think- there are 8-10 'big clubs' in that division who all thought their stay there would be temporary and will be looking to go for the playoffs again next year. Then you have the new money clubs/clubs on the rise like FGR or Oxford. Then the physical no-holds-barred teams like ainsworths Wycombe or Burton. We wil need a capable and mentally strong side that can take on the travelling and the old pros and the mind games and the bulls***. A head coach can make a big difference there but let's be honest - even Schopp could have got Stendals side to the top 6 that year. The new coach will be starting from a much much lower basis from the POV of the squad.

Mate - you just publicly insinuated that I have some cosy relationship with the CEO (who I’ve met four times ever?) and that my involvement in the FanZone is almost like a brown envelope being handed to me for my day job.

I’m sure if the roles were reversed in that exchange you’d offer the opportunity to clarify that claim in a far more mature way than an Internet forum. I’d welcome it to be honest given how serious that post was.

People had their doubts about Mowatt and Mcgeehan that pre-season. Too lightweight. Bahre was powder puff and Potts played on the wing as did Thiam. All players that had been dismissed before hand. I'd liken Benson or Kane to Bahre and Wolfe to Mcgeehan. Iseka to Thiam. Thomas could return and play where Potts did.

I think it most likely that we'll sell the players that have performed in other teams, so no Kane, Thomas or Aitchinson. ICD got his first league start at the ripe old age of 24 last night, I'm not too hopeful of his ability to boss the midfield next season, in a shithouse league. Added to losing our defensive pairing a lot will depend on the next managerial choice and a good start to get the belief and passion back.

My comments regarding loko were ill advised and I apologise for any upset caused.

But I stand by my remarks about this board being an unwelcoming place to post these days and rife with double standards. I really would appreciate my account being terminated as soon as possible.

I hope you are right but I'm not sure those line up. McGheehan didn't have an amazing season as I recall and though MSB looked useful when playing in the hole I wouldn't have thought the idea is to play Benson that far ahead (or Kane assuming he stays). Also worried people are investing too much in our returning loanees- Thomas has started 9 games for Bristol Rovers in league 2 and has not scored since October and has two assists this calendar year. Can he really come in and play the Potts role in a league above (20 starts, 5 assists, 6 goals in half a season) or are we expecting a bit much there? If Iseka does mirror Thiam then fair enough, but hes on nearly twice the salary.

People don't have the balls to complain about others. That at half time, why didn't someone say to the CEO before and tell him. This will go down like a rock balloon. WHY, why because they don't give a ****. Non of them do. They all get paid. They all do as little as possible and everything good.

The most telling thing I've heard this season was when Beth told everyone in the room how great everyone was. Why because they don't put pressure on each other. They don't have high expectations on each other. They don't demand of each other. And because of what they don't get people demanding off them.

Have a break but do keep posting, a board is only as good as its posters and its boring if everyone just parrots everyone else. Understandable that we're all feeling down and irritable after the season we've had, made so much worse that it's in such stark contrast to last season.

We had footballers walking around with flowers Marc, yes flowers. We have just been relegated. Read the room was my thinking when they came out for pictures but they then went for a stroll around oakwell.

Don't like it at all. The CEO's somewhat new to Barnsley. A lot of others at the club aren't, so why didn't they strongly question him.

Well we know why don't we ....

My reasons for leaving are nothing to do with the season we've had, it's to do with rank hypocrisy on the BBS and I honestly don't have the mental fortitude to bother with it anymore.

I've asked several times now via PMs to admin to close my account and as yet it's not happened. Unsure why...

ah. didn't see that. yeah I think I know where I would have been sticking them flowers. it's difficult to know where to pin stuff like that. we don't know who's idea it was. it might have been Khaled's for all we know. he may have been advised against it, but decided to do it anyway? you may be right and no one may have said anything. the CEO may have had little input into it. we just don't know.

but yeah, either way someone somewhere though it was a good idea, which it obviously wasn't!

    Some good reads on here.

    I have a different opinion.

it will be de ja vu.

We will have a better squad in league 1 and than we did in the championship and probably comeback up and flog them all for a low fee and packet of Harribos
