I've been looking on Oxford's forum for their opinions of Herbie, as I think he's someone who we'll look at keeping in the summer. Strangely, the thread about him has nothing but positive comments up until January 1st, complete silence for 3.5 months, and then opinion is very much split on him. It seems he's played the majority of the 2nd have of the season in a deeper role, and wanted too much time on the ball. It's interesting because I'd like to see us build a team around a midfield consisting of Kane, Wolfe and Aitchison. I certainly hope you’re right about Kane being back here. I’d like us to have a look at Aitchison as well
Imagine Kane will be a high earner given he came from Liverpool. If we get even a half decent bid I reckon he’ll be off.
"He was asked to fulfill a role he was no good at due to Gorrin's injury. Barnsley paid Liverpool £3million I believe so he won't come cheap." Lol! sounds like he will play well for us in league 1 if he has a defensive cdm to work with. And of course a manager that knows what he's doing!
It wouldn’t surprise me if there wasn’t another club willing to pay him what we’ve committed to pay him for the next two years.

I had no idea we paid that much for him and was fully expecting we’d sell him to Oxford for 250 grand ish. If he stands us at that figure then you’d think we’d need a minimum of £1.5m.
I’m pretty sure it was closer to £1 million but I can’t see Oxford paying anywhere near that. I think he’ll be back here next season.
The fee at the time was rumoured to be £1.2m. He's still half his contract left, so I reckon it'd take a sizeable bid for us to let him go. I can't see that happening to be honest. Which I don't mind, as I think he'll be an asset in league one. He's still only 23, but now has almost 130 Pro games under his belt. Mainly at league 1 level, but some above.
I think Bassi has shown the quality and range of passing that we need, it will be interesting to see if Kane or Benson can get anywhere near that if they are given a good run of games.
Is our highest transfer fee paid still £1.5m ? ( Sheron and Hristov ) Are any “ undisclosed” fees likely to have surpassed it ?
