I won't be renewing. The total lack of ambition from these owners plus the matchday experience (which they promised to improve) has made my mind up for me really. I cant stand the way the club is run.
QUOTE="Old Goat, post: 2945235, member: 121531"]I renewed last week. I thought long and hard, and almost talked myself out of it. There were lots of reasons to call it a day, not least of which was my son's decision not to renew. For the first time in 19 years I will be back to attending on my own. Whether I stick it out beyond next season, or even to the end of the season, remains to be seen, but for now I intend to give it my best shot. I still dislike and distrust the owners. I still have reservations about our player recruitment model. The £750k is still a bugbear. There is a long list of things wrong at the club. I don't need to mention them all, they're well documented. But still... I've renewed. In the end, the thing that tipped the scales for me was a recent post by @YTBFC, where Andy spoke about his mum, and Patrick Cryne. I found it quite moving, and it reminded me that the club is made up of people. Mostly local people. Good people. People who give it everything. People who, given the state of the club's finances, probably need all the support they can get. So for now, I'm in.[/QUOTE] Just renewed mine, this is exactly how I feel.
It's up the individual what they do with there money but for me the lack of communication late last year the closure of the west stand fans who have had season tickets for decades looking round for somewhere decent to sit, not bringing in any players in January until the last minute are the reasons me my son and grandson aren't renewing . I hope we win league 1 by 20 points but I think that's highly unlikely while this set of owners remain in charge and cold hard cash is the only thing they understand.
Is this a Actual take or bait? I have very mixed emotions about not renewing for the first time in my adult life. However I will not be held to ransom by the owners. The CEO basically saying "even if you don't like the owners just renew anyway" is not doing anything to draw me back in.
Not renewing , my club is in the worst position that I have seen in over 60 years and that includes admin and the 4th division. Sad.
Each to their own. I'll see who we get in as manager & what we do to try & change our fortunes player wise. I'll pick my games on that basis. I just want to forget this season for now.
I actually enjoyed some of the old times in the 4th division probably because I had not been spoilt with anything better than the third & 4th division , however administration was awful & I think with our present owners it is only a matter of time before they take us down that path again .
Not saying he wasn't, but that's the view of the CEO. Basically saying the owners don't care about the fans so just keep financially supporting them. As close as Barnsley FC is to my heart and all the great memories I have it's not something I'm willing to do.
Just renewed and my lad has too. Not happy at all how the club is run but it's in my blood, just can't turn my back....
